The ringmaster slowly comes to. He looks at his chains, and then up to the group of kids in front of them. "Well, hello. Come to rescue me?"

“All those bodies…” griffin felt sick.
Leo leaned against a wall and sank to the floor, bile rising in his throat. Eleanore approached the bodies. "They're all still here."
