Lia wiped away the tears falling down her cheeks, and Jace looked over at her as they followed Ana, Griffin and Leo.
"Jace, how many more of our friends are going to die?" She asked. Jace just took a deep breath.
"No one. No one else. I won't let anyone get to you, or anyone else. I promise."

Ana watched as Alice ran ahead, slowly disappearing down the hall. Curse my short legs.

Leo sprinted after Alice, Ella right behind him. They remained right behind Ana and Eli, Jace and Lia right behind them. "We have to get out of here," Ella pointed out quietly. Leo nodded.
"We'll do whatever it takes to do so."

Ella snickered. "Right, sorry." Seriousness returned quickly, though, as she met Eli's worried gaze, and they shared a thought. Let's hope no one else ends up like this.
