“I like the first idea,” Kenzie giggled. “They’d be so shocked. Maybe a ‘Thinking of You’ card?”

“We could also make something and write ‘congratulations, Uncle/Aunt!’ on it,” Hunter provided. “It would be so much fun breaking the news to them.”
“It’ll be so great. We have to hand it to them ourselves, too. I really want to see their reactions,” Kenzie said with another giggle. Her stomach grumbles and she sighed. “Food first. I’m starving. And I really want French toast.”
Hunter grinned.
"French toast, it is!" He said, both of them walking towards their car. Soon enough, they parked in front of a nice eating place (I FORGOT WHAT'S IT CALLED).
"Order whatever you want," Hunter grinned. "After all, you're eating for two now."
(A restaurant?)
Kenzie grinned back and kissed his cheek before getting out of the car. “Yeah. I guess I am, huh? Honestly, that’s kind of strange to think about. There’s a tiny person growing inside me,” she mused softly, glancing down at herself.
(YES)
“What would you want to name the child?” Hunter asked curiously.
(Lol. I hate it when that happens. I did it the other day at work. I couldn’t remember what a thermometer was called…)
Kenzie shrugged loosely and looked back up at Hunter, still smiling. Honestly, she didn’t think she’d ever stop.
“I don’t know yet. I haven’t thought about names. Maybe we could do it together?” she suggested as they walked inside.
Hunter shrugged.
“I’m fine with whatever you come up with,” he told her. “Unless it’s terrible.”
“You’re a really help,” Kenzie chuckled. “Booth or table?”
“Table, I guess,” Hunter shrugged. “Can you order for me today? I have no idea what to eat.”
“Sure. Pancakes?” Kenzie asked.
They stepped into the restaurant and were taken to an empty table. Kenzie immediately pulled out her phone and started looking for names.
Hunter shrugged.
“Something other than pancakes,” he added. “I’ve been eating those too much. I’ve gotten a little tired.”
"Hm… Eggs? With sausage?" Kenzie asked, glancing down over he menu.
Hunter grimaced.
"I do not like eggs," he said. "But I do like sausages. Very much."
Kenzie chuckled and looked up at him. “You are incredibly picky sometimes, babe. What about waffles? Or French toast?”
Hunter shrugged.
“I’m a picky eater, what can I say?” He grinned. “But I do eat a lot, so that makes up for it. Um, waffles, I guess.”
“All right. So you’ll have waffles and sausage, and I’ll have French toast,” Kenzie hummed as a waitress walked over. She told the girl their order, and she went to get their food.
“How are you going to tell your father?” Hunter asked before he grimaced. “Damn it, he’s going to kill me.”
Kenzie's eyes widened before she groaned and set her forehead on the table. "I have no idea… How do you tell someone they're going to be a grandfather?"
Hunter shrugged.
“Don’t ask me,” he poked Kenzie on the forehead. “Also… I was thinking…”
Kenzie lifted her head to look up at her husband, tilting her head to the side a bit. "Yes…?"
"Maybe I should tell my father," he said quietly, looking away. "It just feels right, y'know?"
Kenzie smiled at him softly and took his hands in hers. “I think that’s a good idea, Hunter. I’m sure he would like to know.”
Hunter smiled softly. Before he could say anything, their food arrived.
"Finally," Hunter grinned, looking up to nod at the waiter. "Food!"
“Mm… It looks so good…” Kenzie hummed as she picked up the maple syrup and drizzled it onto her French toast. She picked up her fork and started to eat it hungrily.
After they were done eating, Hunter suggested they’d walk a little before going back home. Kenzie’s appointment for the ultrasound was in 12 weeks, and to say Hunter was excited was an understatement. It seemed to be forever.
“So, are we going to wait until the ultrasound to tell Willeo, or are we going to invite them over and break the news today?”
“It would be fun to wait until the ultrasound because then we could give them a picture… But it would be really hard to keep it from then until then,” Kenzie mused as they walked. She looked around at the park they’d decided to walk in, her eyes bright and her smile wide.
Hunter clasped her hand in his.
“It would be nice,” he murmured. “Having a family. The first few years would be terrible, though. Lindsey tells me I gave my mother real trouble when I was a child. Said I’d make lots of mess and hardly let her sleep at all.”
"That's what babies do, babe," Kenzie laughed, looking up at him brightly. She was practically glowing now that she knew the reason for her pain and knew that it would be worth that and the wait. "My word, I'm so excited."
Hunter grinned.
"You'll be a great mother," Hunter wrapped an arm around Kenzie's shoulders. "What about Eden, if our child is a girl?"
