Kenzie returned Hunter's smile, then reached over to grab the sandwiches. She bopped him on the nose with one before holding it out so that he could take a bite.

Original: The young man was embarrassed and left the room.
My edit: As they laughed at him, the cheeks of the young man grew red. He wrung his hands together as his eyes darted around the room. His heart pounded in his chest as he stood from the tan chair he sat in. The laughter grew louder, pulsing in his ears, as he walked to the door, his head hanging low so that he wouldn’t have to look anyone in the eye. With his head still lowered, he reached a shaking hand out to the door handle and turned it. Opening the door slowly, he cautiously left the room.

"Gimme that," she muttered, tossing the one she held at him.
