Avi glanced at the daggers. "You prefer blades? Cool. I prefer bullets." She added, pulling one of the pistols, flicking the muzzle casually, dangerously. They arrived at the restaurant. "In here." Avi pulled open the door for Lillian, stashing the gun away again.
"It's not that I prefer them, they're just the easiest to use." She shrugged, tucking it away in her sleeve so it wouldn't be noticed.

It was pretty late the next morning. Zackary was still asleep, curled around her, his wings ultimately around them. He crooned softly in his sleep, his mouth hanging open somewhat to show his sharp teeth. He looked soft and neutral in sleep, though.
Juliet stirred in her sleep, Qhuinn whining and whimpering now that he was awake. His cries rose into the air, causing Juliet to wake immediately. SHe rubbed her eyes and yawned. A warm and gentle presence washed over her, she hardly wanted to move. But the instinct inside of her willed her to crawl from under Zackary's embrace, his wings, and come to her baby. With Qhuinn in her arms and satisfied, only then did her mind register where she had just come from.
I didn't sleep in my bed… Her eyes widened as she slowly turned to Zackary's sleeping form. She had slept with him, curled up and cuddling under the shelter of his winds.
Zackary was still lying asleep from where she left him. His arms open and his wings hanging. He crooned softly, shifting around restlessly. It wasn’t warm anymore. Where had it gone?
That sounds
It resonated in her heart and called to her, beckoning her to that bed once more. She could rest in those arms with Qhuinn. She could leave him there and grab his bottle, bring back upstairs and reclaim her spot. The plan was perfect. She took a step towards the bed, and then another-
Prrrrriiiiing….. Prrrrrriiiiiiiinnnng.
Juliet jumped as her phone rang. She went to her bed and got her phone. She looked at the time.
10:30!!!!!! She was 3 hours late for work.
She answered the phone, it was her co-worker, Angela. "H-hello? Yeah I know I overslept…. Yes, I'll be right there!" She began to rush about the room, gathering her clothes, Qhuinn in one hand, her phone between her ear and shoulder. "No! I have a babysitter, don't worry about it….I know Ang, just- just give me a half and hour. Alright, thanks, bye." She hung up and dropped her phone.
Zackary snorted awake, flopping off the bed at her phone falling to the ground. He landed in a bundle of sleepy Demon, peering at her fro, between his shoulders. He yawned slowly,
“What’s going on, Julie…?”
She jumped at the commotion of Zackary's fall, stopping in the middle of her frenzy. "Oh, I'm sorry to wake you." She dropped her clothes on the bed and rushed to help him up. "Uh- uh- could you hold him? Thanks." She forced Qhuinn into his hands and rushed back to her room. In a dead-fast race she dressed and rushed into the bathroom, curling her hair haphazardly while brushing her teeth. Once she finished that, she applied mascara as she slipped on her heels with one hand. "I'mlateforwork!" she yelled to Zack.
Zackary took Qhuinn and watched her get ready with a dazed, confused expression. “Work… late? O-okay… bye…” He glanced around, still half-asleep. He plopped back into the bed, holding the child close to his chest.
Juliet walked to the mirror and straightened herself out. She scrutinized for a moment. "Good enough." She left the bathroom, grabbed her phone and purse from about the room, then crossed into Zackary's room. "He should be hungry. There are 3 bottles in the fridge for him and I should be back after that.." She leaned in and kissed Qhuinn's cheek, leaving a nice red lipstick stain on his cheek. He squealed happily, putting his hands on her face. She smiled. "Mommy loves you, behave." She kissed his small hand and left the room.
Sitting in the silence, Qhuinn looked at Zackary with wide blue eyes, akin to his mothers, soft and big. "Da? Aaaah!" He squealed.
