Micah heard a loud crash come from the bathroom. “What was that?” His mom, who was sitting next to him, asked. He shook his head, standing up. “I dunno.” He made his way upstairs, his mom close behind. He tried to open the bathroom door, but it was locked. Micah’s mom knocked on the door once. “Maggi?” No reply. She knocked again, louder. “Maggi, sweety, are you in there?” Nothing. Micah pounded on the door. “Maggi? This isn’t funny! Open the door!” No response. He took a paperclip from his pocket and straightened it out before sticking it in the lock. After a few seconds he heard a click and opened the door. He fell to the ground, tears already making their way down his face. His mom let out a small noise and stumbled back a little. “Maggi…”
