@ShadeStar

(Hi)

@WriteOutofTime

(hello :D)

@ShadeStar

(How are you?)

@WriteOutofTime

(pretty good. just bored. you?)

@ShadeStar

(Honestly, same.)

@blue_topaz

Here now!)

Morrigan hurriedly gathered her skirt. “Then let’s go, we don’t want to be late!”

@ShadeStar

"Let's go!" Chrysa shouted and began quickly walking down the corridors to the church.

Pandora stood up, nearly tripped on her skirt, and hurried after her.

@blue_topaz

They finally made it, 30 seconds early.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa straightened her skirt and walked into the sanctuary to take her seat. She whispered to the other teens, "Pretend like nothings happened."

"Okay. I'll try."

Mila

Zoe nodded and slipped into a pew. She gathered herself and looked forward, ruffling her skirts.

Pandora slipped into a pew behind Chrysa. She wiped her clamy hands off on her skirt. As the service began, her mind wandered. They were actually running away.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa tried to look as into the worship as she could, but she just couldn't put her heart into her disguise. People actually were willing to leave this place, they were going to get out of here!

@blue_topaz

Morrigan bowed her head in a fake prayer, a vision of peace and tranquility on the outside but a mess f elation and anticipation on the inside. She was going to get out of here.

As the service continued Pandora's imagination ran wild. What if they got caught? What if they didn't? Where were her parents now? Had they made up? Did they miss her as much as she missed them?

Mila

A bubble of excitement was growing in Zoe. Was she really going to escape this hellhole? She'd be leaving her family, but would that make much of a difference?

@blue_topaz

Morrigan knee where she was going to go first. The graveyard, to visit her brother and pay respects. Then, the Library of Poetry.

Enzo loved service. He grinned at his congregation, giving a long sermon on compliance and how much the goddess would reward obedience. His favorite word was compliance. He said it at least twelve times.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa decided she was going to take a shot for every time Priest Enzo said compliance. That guy said it way too much.

Pandora tried to look like she was concentrating on the sermon, but her mind wouldn't stay in the present.

@WriteOutofTime

"Compliance is, after all, the key to successful life and a life worth living," Enzo said, gazing at each of the members of the congregation. He noticed a handful of the teens looked quite absent. He should understand –they were teenagers, and teenagers always look bored– but his mind was still annoyed. He frowned. "Compliance is paying attention when a priest is speaking. Compliance is respect."

Walker did his best to make it look like he was interested in what Priest Enzo was saying. He felt like the man would stare at him whenever he seemed to zone out. He felt exhausted, and almost felt himself drifting off, when his mother, who was next to him, nudged him awake.

@ShadeStar

He's on to us, Chrysa pushed off all other thoughts and then focused on the sermon.

Pandora snapped out of daydreaming and focused on the Priest's general direction. Man, that guy gave her the jitters.

@WriteOutofTime

That's better, Enzo thought smugly. He raised his arms high. "All repeat after me: Compliance is key."

"Compliance is key." She murmured with the congregation. If there was one thing she hated about this place, it was the fact that everyone was supposed to go along with things without questioning it.

@ShadeStar

"Compliance is key," Chrysa did everything in her power to not sound distained.

@WriteOutofTime

"The goddess thanks you." Enzo closed his eyes. He could feel the presence of the goddess surrounding him, thanking him, loving him. It was bliss to feel so complete. "Now, let us rise and sing the song of praise."
