She giggles. “Thanks…but I still can’t tell you…”

"Please?" He asked.

She smiles slightly, and sadly, resting her head on his chest. "I'm only going to tell you because you look cute…"

"Okay then," He said with a slight laugh,"Now spill, Kerenza."

She looks back down. "A dream…I had…was of you…my dad got a hold of you…I couldn't do anything…"

"That's what you're scared of?" He asked.

She shakes her head. "I'm scared of so much more…because of him…but that's what's scaring me the most right now…Leon…I can't lose you…"

(I just got a cool but weird idea that once they find their soulmate, if one of them gets hurt, the other one feels their pain…wyt?)

"Leon…" She sighs, her whole body shaking. She looks out the window as the sun starts rising.

"It's fine, Kerenza."

She doesn't answer, whimpering.

He hugs her and kisses her on the forehead.

She hugs him tightly. "Thank you…forever and for always…"

She sighs, standing, the stretches, popping her back. The blanket slips from her shoulders, showing the thousands upon thousands of scars all over her arms.

Kerenza looks down. "W-wha…?"

She flinches. "Leon…"

"Yes?"

She looks down, not looking at him. "Different ways…every day…it was a different method…usually getting whipped, or he would slash and stab me with a knife… I think he had fun watching me suffer…"
