Grimms’s Heroes - A Roleplay [REBOOT, PRIVATE]

"I just um…" How to put this? "I'm uneasy." Madelyn begin to lie expertly, "What just happened was unusual and more than unsettling. Can you realy blame me for being jumpy?"

"Well…the reason that those deceased men and women awoke is because…. well, my father, Hades, has gone missing" His face shows signs of sadness and which quickly transforms into a look of immense stress and anger. His voice is filled with a hopeless rage as he says "And he's left me to deal with everything, collecting the souls that escaped during the unrest when he first disappeared, judgement of souls, GAHH" He lets out a broken yell his hair flaming up and he begins to pace rapidly muttering incoherently to himself. His fiery blue hair grows to over a foot above his head as he clearly begins to mentally break down.

The sudden fire sent Madelyn scrambling back over a head stone to keeping safe distance between the flame and herself. Fire, she remember events from her captivity. The white using flame to hurt her mother. Screaming, burning, pain, and hopelessness.

The flames begin to spread down his arms and back as he paces, the flames don't appear to burn him but they are incredibly hot to everyone within 15 feet.

“We should’ve left the graveyard.” Chelsea muttered.

Madelyn kept backing up eyes filled with fear. Her breathing became more erratic, She wanted to call for help, but the words stuck in her throat, but unable to look away from the fire. of corse the meant she wasn't looking were she was going and fell backwards over one of the headstones.

Chelsea appeared next to Madelyn, (trying to make her say something other that ‘are you okay’, becaUSE CLEARLY-), she apologized to gravestone, which felt like the right thing to do. Chelsea looked at Madelyn, what made her so panicked? The fire? Maybe. “C’mon, sit up. Need a hand? Let’s look in the other direction, yea?”

Reyna slipped in front of Maddie, getting in between her and Thanatos. She didn’t know what set her off, but probably the fire, so maybe if she didn’t see it…? Grimacing, she pulled down her sleeves to hide her arms slightly from the heat.

The fire begins to die down as Thanatos calms. He turns in a full circle, viewing the trail of fiery carnage he had caused, as well as the horrfied faces of the onlookers.

Madelyn her head on her knees and did her set to control her breathing.pushing back the memories of her time in the white queen's dungeon and everything that happened to her mother and herself.

A worried expression crossed Oliver's features as he moved towards Madelyn, hoping that he could help her like Chelsea had already began to do. Quinn moved forward too, kneeling down next to the older girl, though she was careful not to touch them. Sometimes, the last thing someone wanted was a person touching them when they were lost in their own thoughts. "That's it. Breathe in and out slowly," Quinn said softly as Oliver stood kneeled down next to his younger friend as well. Sometimes Quinn could act so motherly that he forgot that it was her.

Not wanting to start a fight, Reyna but her tongue hard. She drew a bit of blood but didn’t seem to notice. She wanted to curse at the strange man (Thanatos, was it?) but it wouldn’t help at all.

Seeing their glares of anger and hatred he backed away, looking panicked, like a deer in headlights he stuttered out. "I-I-I'm s-so s-s-so-sorry" He stumbled back trying to hide frfom their reproachful eyes.

Other people imagined places calming beaches and a silent mountain top. To Madelyn those places had memories of their own, they to had tragedies to share, but number were indifferent and constant. "It's not your fault." Chelsea muttered. She looked at Madelyn then looked at her twin with panic dancing around in her eyes. Appearing next to Chelsea, (oooooh participial phrase hailp me) he tried to think of something calm Madelyn down. Nothing.

"Fire," Theta breathed, looking fascinated at a remaining spark that was floating through the air. She was completely entranced, ignoring the chaos all around her. "No matter how many times I see it, it's always a marvel that you humans can do the one thing that sea faeries can not." She held out a hand, and the spark drifted onto it. She suddenly winced and pulled back. A black mark had formed on her arm, and it was larger than what should have normally been possible.

(i like to think that instead of the trope that water-related magical creatures would be scared of fire, they would instead be fascinated by it and try to touch it or use it, etc, but they would constantly get burned)

Reyna turned to look at her. “Don’t touch it. Fire burns.”

Madelyn looks up and sees everyone gathered around her, Oh stitches this was in public. "S..sor…sorry, I did mean to worry anyone. It's was just a surprise."

“Aw, it’s okay Lynnie.” Chelsea smiled, she offered Madelyn a hand, “C’mon, wanna get up?”

(I have come up with nick names for everyone muahahahaha)

Reyna turned to look at her. “Don’t touch it. Fire burns.”

"Obviously," Theta said dryly, using the unburnt hand to pull out a small bottle out of her purse. She smeared the gooey gel on her wound. "This is anemone extract, made to heal non-bloody injuries. It's not magic, of course, since I'm fresh out of that right now, but it certainly helps."

“Sounds more like Oliver’s thing. Cool, I guess,” she shrugged. “Maddie, you good for now?”

"Yeah, I'm good," her voice wavers a little as she takes Chelsea's hand.

"Yeah, it's not mine," Theta said. "I got it from a sea peddler, who apparently used materials from Wonderland inside of it as well. Hey- Oliver, right?- did you see this before?"

"It's okay, Maddie," Quinn said, a small, bright grin crossing her face as Madelyn got up. She gave the older girl a small hug, hoping that it would somehow make them feel a bit better. "Do you feel better now?" Oliver and Quinn almost asked at the same time, though Quinn was a few beats behind.

"Yeah, it's not mine," Theta said. "I got it from a sea peddler, who apparently used materials from Wonderland inside of it as well. Hey- Oliver, right?- did you see this before?"

"Anemone extract, huh?" Oliver hummed, as if he were thinking. He knew a few things about medicine since his family used to have a small apothecary, though it usually took him a few moments to remember what specific types of medicine were made of and what they did. "Actiniaria, right? Their scientific name. I haven't really seen one, but I was told that it liberates histamine and is a slow contracting substance," he explained, tilting his head to the side in thought. "Wait, or was that sea chamomile…I tend to forget," Oliver added with a small sigh and carefree smile.

Theta stared at him, raising one eyebrow. "Dude, I don't know shit about medicines. It's bad enough that I have to learn ancient runes, but chemical extracts? That's a whole other level of weirdness that I seriously don't need to get into right now."

"Trust me, you definitely shouldn't get into medicine. I had to learn all of this when I was about ten, and I barely understood anything," Oliver answered, a small grin crossing his face at how Theta practically stared at him. He was a lot smarter than he usually implied, and whenever he spoke about medicine it was like he was a completely different person. "Ancient runes? That seems hard to me," he said with a small sigh.

"Hard to everyone," Theta replied. "It's bad enough that you have to think of the words you want, then translate them into ancient runes, then put them together… but no, some dumbass back then was like 'hey why don't i just fucking switch up the entire sentence structure,' and boom. This is why I have to pre-write my spells before a battle and turn them into talismans- there's not way I could do one on the fly."

"That seems too difficult…even for me," Oliver sighed as he frowned at how hard that must be; creating your own spells and translating them too. "You should show me how you do it sometime," he added, part of him curious to see how they worked and what they really looked like too.
