(Ok. 😁 McGonagall.)

Minerva tiredly paced to the door guarded by the towering statue that lead to Dumbledore's office. "Sherbert Lemons," she muttered and the staircase appeared. She climbed the steps and knocked on the door.

“Come in,” Dumbledore said in a deep and slightly raspy voice, hoping it wasn’t a student so he would be able to talk normally.

Minerva opened the door and stepped in. "Dumbledore? Are you busy?"

Dumbledore’s eyes lit up. “No. Not at all. I’m so glad you came in, Minerva. What brings you to my not-so-humble abode?”

Minerva held up two letters. The one in her left hand was written on fine golden parchment in delicate cursive. The one in her right was stiff, dark, and signed with black ink. Both were sealed and stamped with the crests of schools. "They replied," she stated.

(I'm thinking to set this like, the summer before the Goblet of Fire, and the two letters are Durmstrang and Beauxbatons replying about participating in the Triwizard Tournament. Is that ok with y'all?)

//okey dokey. It is your rp, after all

(Sure.)

Dumbledore suddenly felt himself grow tired. “I suppose that’s a good thing,” he said, accepting the letters. “I just can’t shake the feeling that something is going to go very wrong.”

(Yeah, but I'm not the only person in this roleplay and I wanted to make sure that it was ok with everybody. 😊)

"Agreed," Minerva said, sitting down opposite Dumbledore. "But the students will be arriving soon, and we can't afford to give them any reason to worry that anything will go wrong. Not like last year," she added, shivering at the thought of a murderer inside Hogwarts. Even then, Sirius Black, she knew, was no murderer. It still gave her an uneasy feeling when she thought about it, so she put it out of her mind. "I sent out the letters today as well." This was to try and distract her. "All of them were received and accepted accordingly."

“Correct. I applaud you and our excellent staff. Would you like a sherbert lemon and a steaming cup of gossip, Minerva?” Dumbledore asked, a bit of the twinkle returning to his eyes. “Only one of which, of course, is not a metaphor.”

"No thank you," she politely declined the sherbert lemon (sour wasn't really her taste), but she eagerly turned a willing ear to the news. "What have you heard?"

“So, so many things. Did you hear about that boy in Hufflepuff, Dick, I think his name was, who tried to ask out Miss Chang? Oh, that was hilarious! But crushing for the poor boy, of course. He’ll soon get over it. Do you have any news?”

(Ok, I would legitimately believe that this is what Dumbledore does in his free time!)

Minerva scoffed, rolled her eyes… fought the urge to laugh, "Are you serious? That's your 'steaming cup of gossip'?"

“Yes. Quite satisfying, no? I find young love to be quite amusing.”
