Marie walked a little faster to catch up with Rey and walked along side him, her precious kitten in her arms still.
She made sure she had everything as she walked towards the classroom, not wanting to leave anything important.
(anyone on???)
group
(Yeah, I'm on and off. I'm studying for chemistry. I fell asleep earlier, which is why I didn't respond.)
Rey walked down the corridors until they came upon the Dark Arts classroom. He took his seat in the middle row and put his bag down.
(ew gross that sucks)
Marie walked into the classroom, and let Rey go to his seat and slowly made her way to an empty back table and set her things down, including her kitten and sat down. she was so tired from the rough night before and she didn't get much sleep, she just hoped to not fall asleep in class.

(hahah, just a little. It's what I want to major in during college though. That's not to say I'm not struggling.)
(interesting choice, i want law for my major)
(I'm going into Cinematography and Conceptual art. I plan on working at Lucasfilms someday :) )

(That's cool. I'm supposed to go on a pre-med track. I'm looking to be a surgeon or maybe work in research or work for the CDC, but I'm not completely sure yet)
Rey anxiously stared at Amycus Carrow, who stood up at the front of the class, wand in hand. He wondered what kinds of horrible hexes and curses they might be learning today.
Marie pulled out her books and things and set her bag on the floor out of her way and waited for further instruction. She was terribly nervous about the class and felt as though something she did would upset one of the Carrows and hoped that wasn't the case.
group
(How do you want to do this? Should I control the teacher, or do you want to, or should we take turns?)

(Wait a minute. I have to get dinner. I'll be back soon)

(Yes, good. Food is very important.)
(you can do the teacher if you want. Have a good dinner)

(so much truth in one little statement)

(I'm back.)
Rey half-listened as Professor Carrow began to speak. His heart almost seized when he heard the words "killing curse." Rey's gaze fell upon the small cages containing their subjects, various types of insects. Sure, it wasn't a person they were killing, but it still made Rey intensely uncomfortable.
Elizabeth continued tapping her quill on the desk nervously. She knew why she couldn't concentrate: she had Dark Arts next. She sighed, the tapping speeding up.
Marie was more worried about staying awake to pay much attention, but she heard "killing curse" spill from Prof. Carrows mouth. She could swear the color in her face drained, and her breathing became shallow. Her cat sensed a change in Marie and jumped into her lap to calm her. her breathing became normal and she stroked her kitten, and started to pay more attention, afraid to make a fool of herself.

Rey glanced over at Marie, then back to Amycus Carrow, who was explaining how they would practice the curse and taught them the incantation and wand motion. Rey was careful to listen to the instructions. He figured if he did it right the first time, he wouldn't have to cast the curse as many times.
Marie saw Rey glance back at her and got nervous. She knew he was a great student and would probably get high marks on the assignment. She tried to focus and took note of all the important things Carrow said and prayed this wouldn't be a disaster.

Rey needed to talk to Marie, but he couldn't speak across the room, so he discreetly pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote a note on it: Listen carefully and follow directions. The better you do to start with, the less you'll have to practice.
He folded the paper into a butterfly and charmed it so that it floated over to Marie. Rey kept an eye on Amycus to make sure he didn't see.
Marie saw a piece of parchment float out of Rey's hand and float to her. As soon as it got close enough she snatched it out of the air so Professer Carrow didn't see it. She opened it and read it, she almost immediately smiled. At least someone cares and sees my panicking. She relaxed a little, and focus a little better knowing he had her back. She took the best notes shes done in the past couple months.

Rey quickly scrawled out notes on Professor Carrow's instructions, went to dip his quill in the inkwell again, and accidentally knocked it over. "Merlin's beard!" he grumbled before putting the ink upright again and cleaning up the spill.
Marie heard someone mumbling in front over her and saw Rey cleaning an ink spill and giggles, continuing to take notes. She wished she had a camera to take a photo of what just happened. Apparently he needed to focus too.
group
Rey continued to take notes. He was shaking. Scared. The last thing he wanted to do was use the killing curse, but maybe it would come in handy one day. He justified himself by thinking that if he ever was attacked by a Death Eater, maybe he could give them a taste of their own medicine.
Marie could tell something was up with Rey, she wasn't sure what but something was off. she could read people pretty well, why coudln't she now?? She focused on the notes and got more nervous as time went on, hoping and praying she wouldn't screw things up.
group
After a while, Amycus Carrow was ready for the class to practice. He set a cage with a scorpion in it on the front table and asked for a volunteer to try first. Rey sank down in his desk.
Marie ducked her head and knocked a piece of parchment on the floor. Perfect, out of mind out of sight… right? she thought. she went behind the table and got the parchment while Carrow picked a student to practice.
