(The what lmao)

Ronan threw a glance over his shoulder, face partly hidden by the collar of his thick trench coat, when he bumped shoulders with another smaller person, the violins case tumbling from his fingers. When it hit, he could feel the instrument get shifted around and bumped, and it sent a sharp pain up the back of his spine. He hissed and murmured a quick apology, scrambling to pick his case back up.

Calla put her mouth to the flute's opening, closing her eyes and putting her fingers strategically over the holes to make a song come out. The man was scared, standing in front of her and pleading for his life. But she didn't care. A sin was a sin. The song was about joy, oddly enough, and when she finished, the man slumped over, devoid of his soul. Calla started to feed on his soul, staring at her arm where the marks appeared. A small stitch was added to the line of stitches that circled her arm and she gave a faint smile. The stitches were like her children, souls that she'd taken. Calla had always thought of herself as a sinner's salvation. She walked out of the forest, her white dress flowing with the breeze as her bare feet were tickled by the grass.
"I wonder. Does the forest have a song?" she lifted up her flute, playing in harmony to the whistling winds.

Karina sat in the grass in the woods nearby to her home. It was honestly quite relaxing. The wind whistled through the branches of the trees, birds chirping in the distance. Looking up towards the sky, she took a deep inhale of the fresh air. She suddenly heard a small noise behind her followed by an irritated grunt.

Calixto wanted nothing more than to be rid of the damned collar. He tugged at it as hard as he could, unable to even loosen it. He glared at the woman in charge of him. Karina. She didn't ever keep it in sight of him, but he knew she always had it. That stupid remote. He imagined crushing the thing in the palm, and knocking the girl unconcious to get away and to the opposite sector. Maybe he could withdraw some of her blood for strength…
If not for both the collar and the iron necklace she wore, he would have done it a long time ago. Out of rage, he kicked a small rock, unintentionally getting Karina's attention.

"Calixto, come on now. Why so angry all the time?" she asked the Malchai. He simply began to laugh darkly, giving another tug at his shock collar.
"I don't know, maybe the fact that I'm going to end up being your slave for who knows how long. Ya think about that?!" he snapped. Karina was about to respond when he picked up again on his ranting. "Well of course not, you're oblivious to how this feels. You get a fancy and luxurious life and slaves to do whatever you want, like a helpless princess."

The South Sector was full of monsters and almost too many sins. Calla herself was ba sically a sin. The deaths that had created her were morbid and sometimes she would walk among the rubble of the ghost town, inspecting the mutilated skeletons from the radiation and the smell of rotting flesh that filled the whole area. It was all quite delightful, really.

Ronan had continued on his way, heading towards a wooded area. The only passage that connected the two sectors was through a dark cave. He hated the cave with a passion. As he stepped into the wooded area, he grew more alert. He didn’t know who could frequent the area, but he was glad the darkness of his clothes provided a bit of protection. But, when there was darkness, where was Corsai.

A patch of shadows shifted next to Ronan, and he flinched, turning quickly in that direction just fast enough to see the teeth and claws of the creatures. A tune rang out in his head, something like a child’s nursery rhyme- Corsai Corsai, tooth and claw. Shadow and bone will eat you raw.

Ronan quickly unclipped ten opening of his violin case, taking up the instrument. The creatures didn’t have souls, but the music would still hurt them. He felt a claw trace along his back, and he gasped, playing a few sharp notes, the pack of creatures hissing.

"Cal…" Karina started.
"Don't call me that again. Damn you to hell for all I care," he spat.
Getting up, she took Calixto by the wrist and tugged him down to sit beside her. He growled at her to let him go, but she refused, still holding his wrist. Calixto could easily get up and stand or walk away, but he was not giving her an excuse to shock him. So instead, he glared at her hand grasping his arm.

@Lenered

(Can Calla and Ronan meet up?)

@Desvelarse pets

(Yeah, sure)

Ronan played a few more sharp notes, and the Corsai back off, hissing and screeching. He walked quickly to the cave, cooling in one hand, case in the other. He walked through the pitch black cave, feeling the wall with his hand as a guide until he reached the South Sector.

Calla sat down on the forest floor, staring at her stitches. They snaked across her arm, looking like a tattoo. The grass was spiky underneath her bare feet and she kept her flute in hand, dancing in the small clearing. It almost felt like she was carefree.
(present, before was three days ago)
The town she lived in was small, with abandoned buildings and few people that almost never came out. They were all wondering where Terry had went. Terry, the man that she'd reaped. Calla picked at her seventeenth stitch nervously, fearing to be discovered.
"He was last seen in the forest, remember?"
"Yeah, with the girl."
"That girl? The one with the creepy eyes?"
"Hey, don't say that! She's blind, not deaf."
"I think it was her. There have been rumors about a Sunai in this area, Terry was not a pure man."
One of the people who were talking came up to her, "Calla, dear, where were you three days ago?"
Calla reached out and touched the woman's face, to see who it was. Olani. "I was in the forest."
"Oh. Darling, did you see Terry?"
"Yes, I did." Calla didn't like to lie.
But things took a worse turn and suddenly the whole town was in flames, with angry people running after her.
Calla ran into the forest, curling into a small ball at the base of a rock and chanting to herself, "Tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow is another day."

Ronan heard a soft voice in the distance that he recognized. He jogged towards the voice, seeing the young Sunai, Calla. He crouched down by her and gently put his hand on her shoulder. “Calla? It’s Ronan, what happened? What’s going on?” He questioned with a furrowed brow. He would have preferred to get out of the dark wooded area. Corsai preyed on young monsters and humans, didn’t matter what breed they were. If they had meat on their bones, they were food or the shadow creatures.

Faye eventually grew bored and hopped out of bed, hesitantly nudging the Malchai with her shoe. “We should head into town, my Dad needs a few things and I was supposed to get it,” she said, stuffing the remote of the collar into the waistband of her pants.

Dax grunted as he hoisted himself up. Even though he slouched a little, he still towered over Faye.

Lila walked out of the alley she looked around for,any monsters before walking to the market. Maybe she could get some food today.

Faye’s jaw clenched slightly when glancing up at the Malchai. Dax. That was the name he went by. She didn’t know whether to use it or not, though. She left her bedroom, walking down a hallway, then a flight of stairs. It was a decently large home, her father being an engineer for the sector. She was about to leave when a hand grabbed at her arm, and her father tugged her aside. “Going to get my things?” The older man asked.

“Yes, Dad,” she answered, nodding her head quickly.

“Has the new Malchai given you any issues lately?” He questioned, hard blue gaze shifting to Dax.

“No, he’s been fine,” Faye answered quickly. Sure, he was stubborn sometimes, but he hadn’t tried to hurt her.

It,” the man corrected, arms folding across his chest.

Faye nodded quickly in understanding, though she felt the need to argue. She said goodbye and walked out the front door.

Dax followed Faye out, wishing he could've at least growled at the man, but he knew he'd be whipped, or worse, if he did. He silently followed Faye.

Faye felt an uncomfortable silence as they walked down a busy street towards the main market area. “Do you prefer ‘he’?” She asked slowly, breaking the silence. She didn’t know much about Malchai and their opinions. Sure, she had multiple around her house because they were owned by her father, but none of them ever spoke with her when she tried. They would either ignore her, or depending on which it was, she would occasionally get growled at.

"No, I love being called 'it' like I'm a thing," Dax growled sarcastically.

(Hello to anyone who has a Sunai character, I forgot to mention a key piece of info about them! A way that humans can tell if a creature is a Sunai, is that on video or camera, a Sunai’s eyes will show up black and smudged, like someone rubbed charcoal over their eyes on the photo/video.)

Faye put her hands up, nodding. “Okay, okay. I wasn’t sure,” she answered quickly. It was just a simple question. Dax always seemed to be in a terrible mood. She could understand why. She wouldn’t like having an iron/metal collar around her throat at all times either. She never used the collar on Dax, never shocked him herself.

Dax followed silently again and watched as other Malchai walked with their owners, obviously not happy with their situation either. He knew the South Sector was in ruins, but anything would be better than being a slave.

Once the pair arrived at the market place, the crowds became more dense with people, some having Malchai. She nudged her way though the crowds, occasionally glancing down at a list when a man’s voice sounded across the square. She frowned and looked up, knowing exactly where it was coming from- The Execution Block. It was barely used, mostly to execute terrible humans, but sometimes monsters. The nudged through the crowd at a faster pace, standing on her toes to try and see through the crowd. When she could see, she frowned more heavily at the sight. It looked to be two older Malchai, one male and one female, bound with that was most likely iron chains. But that wasn’t what was the most upsetting. No, it was what she assumed was their child, a little girl. She couldn’t have been more than thirteen. “Oh my god..” she murmured.

@Lenered

"They found out." Calla muttered, reaching out to touch Ronan's face. "Ronan?" her large white eyes stared at him.

“Yeah, Calla, it’s me,” Ronan murmured in a soothing manner, allowing the younger Sunai to feel his features. “Who found out? North or South Sector people?” He asked slowly, expression serious.

@Lenered

"South." Calla slowly got up, her bare legs bleeding and scratched from the times she'd fallen as she tried to run away. "Why do they hate us?"

@ShadeStar

Lila looked up at the execution block. Malachis were going to die today, Lila looked at her little hand pistol. She debated for a moment before looking up with determination, "Maybe they won't die today."

Dax's blood boiled at the sight of the execution block. He growled at the sight. He started towards the block, but stopped when he remembered how powerless he was. He watched in disgust and rage.

“They don’t understand what we do for this world, that’s all. All they believe is that we are monsters,” Ronan said, looking at Calla before standing up straight. Another verse of the tune rang in his mind. Sunai Sunai, eye’s like coal. Sing a song and steal your soul.

He shook the terrible song away and looked down at Calla, gently taking her smaller hand in his own large one. “Let’s get you home.”

@Lenered

"Okay." Calla nodded and she held onto Ronan, so she wouldn't trip. The forest had a lot of rocks and roots that were easy to miss.

Dax clenched his hands into a fist, holding back tears. Why this? She wasn't even eleven. He trembled in fear, rage, sadness, and the hundreds of other emotions boiling inside him.

“These Malchai are charged with killing their owners in cold blood,” The older man, holding an iron pole with a sharp edge announced. The male hissed, tugging at the chains while the woman looked defiant, and the child knelt, frozen with fear. Upon hearing the hiss, the older man took the pole and stabbed it into the lower chest of the male Malchai in an upwards motion, it sliding under the bone plate of the creature with a sickening noise as the Malchai went limp. The woman sobbed sharply, her head hung, and the child’s eyes were wide as she cried.

Faye had gasped when the Malchai was stabbed and she slightly shielded it from her gaze. “We should go,” she said, voice trembling slightly.

Eventaully, Ronan practically swept the younger Sunai into his arms, carrying her now. He went out of the woods, walking quickly in the cover of night to a nearby building, its walls crumbling. He went inside and walked up a few flights of stairs until he arrived at an open floor plan area, a few cots on the ground. Despite the fact that he didn’t know of any other Sunai besides the two, he always had hope that there would be more, and they would somehow find sanctuary there.
