"That's not too bad." Oliver decided, calming a little. "God, I'm so glad she's okay." He took a deep breath and let it out, relieved.
“How to Save A Life..” Remake Roleplay (read the description, please)
Natalie nodded. Suddenly the events of the day all caught up to her. She ran out of the room and into the girls bathroom and threw up.
Then she sat against the wall and unleashed the torrent of sobs that she'd been holding in.
Oliver didn't need to ask to know where Natalie was going. He'd had the same urge several times today, but the lack of food in his system left him unable to dispel anything.
Dove froze, her training kicking in and she practically flew over to Dr. Tamara, with a box of tissues in her hand.
Oliver felt numb. Not apathetic, but numb. In shock, perhaps. There was only so much he could take in one day and death maxed that out ten times over, let alone one of his close friends being injured. He slumped down in a chair and stared blankly at the wall, unsure of how he should be feeling.
Natalie didn't take any of the tissues. Her whole body shook violently. The first thing she had heard this morning was, You might have a relapse of your brain cancer. Then her cousin had died. Then she had to preform a surgery on one of her friends. And on top of it all, she had been struggling with depression and anxiety. And her parents were fighting again. She sobbed harder, terrified for them.
Dove stood back, then patted Dr. Tamara's shoulder and hugged her, "Plot twist."
She faced Dr. Tamara and went out of the hug, "When life is giving you thousands of reasons to cry, then show life that you actually have million reasons to be happy. If you fall seven times, then make sure that you stand up eight."
Dove stood back, then patted Dr. Tamara's shoulder and hugged her, "Plot twist."
(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THAT'S MY LINE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
Oliver felt sick sitting here and doing nothing. He needed to be put to work. He walked out of Briar's room to see Dove caring for Natalie. He kept his distance. He wouldn't be of help here. But at the same time he wanted another hug and Natalie looked like she could use one too. She had it rougher than him. He complained a lot, but almost all the other surgeons did. Oliver stopped a feet feet away from Natalie, unsure of how to approach a situation like this.
Natalie nodded, taking those deep jerky breaths that you take when your not crying but still feel like crying. She closed her eyes and looked at the ceiling. "Thank you God for saving Briar."
Dove nodded and offered the Dr. Tamara a tissue. Wait until my mom hears this!
Natalie gratefully took the tissue from Dove. She saw Oliver awkwardly standing a few feet away.
"Natalie? I umm…" Oliver wanted to retreat badly, but it was too late now. "It's just been an awful day… do you want a hug?" He offered awkwardly, opening his arms a bit. He gave Dove a pleading look, hoping he was doing the right thing.
Natalie accepted the hug, burying her head into his shoulder.
Dove suppressed a laugh and bit her lip. She pulled out her clicker and clicked it.
(She clicks the clicker when she's happy)
Oliver hugged her back tightly, happy to be of some help. "I'm sorry. For what I did-or… or what I couldn't do." He released her and kept his down, blinking tears out of his eyes.
"It wasn't you fault." Natalie told him fiercely. "God took Jasper to a better place."
"I just…" He sighed. "God and I just don't get along very well." He sniffled and suddenly burst into tears as well.
Now it was Natalie's turn to hug Oliver. "Oliver" She said in a broken voice hugging him tightly. "Why would you EVER think that??????"
Dove stepped back and wondered if Dr. Horne wouldn't notice if she left.
"I got to fight him to keep my patients every day. Every single day is another fight. Because God wants to take them away and I won't let him, but sometimes he wins." Oliver shook like a leaf in the wind and hot tears stained his cheeks.
Natalie pulled away from Oliver and lifted his chin so that he was looking at her. "God loves you. He's not fighting you. You're fighting Him. Stop fighting. He's waiting for you with open arms." Her voice broke. "Oliver He's helping you. Satan is the one fighting you." She pulled him back into a hug again.
Oliver let out a whine, hugging Natalie close. He needed the support. As soon as she let go he looked at Dove expectantly, still holding his arms open for another hug.
Dove slowly stepped back and then broke into a run back to her office. This is too sad. She curled up in her seat and sobbed. A little boy died today. She felt emotions too strongly.
"You sure God isn't fighting me." He asked Natalie bitterly before bolting after Dove. Natalie could choose to follow if she wished, but Oliver was sick of hurting people today.
Natalie dashed after Oliver, of course. God, help me to help him, and all the others too. She prayed.
"Dove?" Oliver slowed his pace as he entered the room. His heart broke as he saw Dove crying in her chair. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." He made his way over to her, sitting on the floor beside her chair.
Dove wiped her eyes, "S'not your fault..(sob)..I..have..(sob)..depression."
