Matrix's ears twitch not hearing the usual lock sliding into place. He looks up for a brief instant but shakes his head and stands. He abandoned the first aid kit and crawls up the stairs on all fours.

Corbin didn’t really care if the demon got out. He was more concerned about his leg and mental state at the moment. If it wanted to leave, he’d damn well let it leave. He was sitting in his bedroom on the edge of his bed, the door to his room shut- this one locked. He ran a hand through his hair while taking a shuddering breath, and he covered his face with his hands, causing Orion to try and nudge away his hands.
Matrix crept through the house. He was bent double and every sound made him jump. He came to the kitchen and his eyes grow wide at the sight of food. He hadnt eaten in months.

Corbin continued to breathe heavily as he reached over to pet Orion. Orion practically was crawling into his lap, licking at his other hand. He gave the dog a meek smile, eventually calming down.
Matrix was was leaning on a door jam. He had an entire carton of ice cream in his arms and a large spoon in his mouth.

When Corbin was calmed down, Orion hopped off the bed and sniffed at his door, whining to be let out. Corbin could hear the demon somewhere around there, and he shook his head at Orion. “No, Orion, let it leave.”
Matrix stuck the full latel of ice cream in his mouth all at once

Corbin sighed as he waited a few minutes, taking a moment to change into a fresh pair of pants. His jaw clenched when he thought of himself knocked out and vulnerable. Why hadn’t the demon just killed him or let him bleed out? After a minute, he opened up the door to his bedroom, peering out into the long hall.
Matrix was chewing a bite of some other food. He was leaning on the entrance to the hallway. His ears perk up and he looks over his shoulder at the door opening, "Ah… He lives."

“What are you still doing here?” Corbin asked, eyes narrowing softly. He would have expected the demon to run off, back to wherever it came from.
Matrix shrugs, looking back down at the random food that was still in his hand. H then holds it out to the human, "Want some?"

Corbin’s nose wrinkled as he shook his head. He knew the demon was hungry that it was just being stubborn. “Just take that and leave,” he said.
"I thought you wanted to sell me to some rich and snobby weakling." Matrix turns his back again to the human and takes another large bite of the food, "And you cant go around alone with an injury like that."

“I won’t be able to go up and down the stairs to deal with you if I kept you here,” Corbin responded. “And why the hell does it matter to you about my injury?”
Matrix shrugs again, finishing the food and facing him, "Like I said. Not all demons are the stereo type."

Corbin was still standing in the doorway, frowning in thought as he watched the demon. “You can’t just stay here,” he reminded. There was a spare bedroom, but he wasn’t going to let the demon sleep anywhere near him.
Matrix shrugs again, "I can manage." He stands straight and walks to the kitchen again.

Corbin gave a sharp huff, shaking his head slowly to himself. Using his crutch, he limped out into the hall, making his way into the kitchen.
Matrix had made a mess. There where pots and pans everywhere. Every surface seemed to be covered with flour and other baking ingredients. The fridge was left open with half of it's contence spilling onto the floor. The demon himself was crouching on the counter, eating fruit one after another from a basket next to him

“What the hell?!” Corbin exclaimed when he saw the giant mess that had been made. “You need to clean all of this up!”
Matrix smirks, taking a large bite from an apple, "Make me." He sits down on the counter, flicking his boots off to add to the mess.

(They’re just like roommates that hate each other lmao)
“God, you have to be fucking kidding me,” Corbin muttered to himself, running a hand over his face. “Do you get off on annoying people, or something?” He snapped.
(Haha yeah!!)
"Ya bet!" Matrix laughs, tossing the core of the apple on the floor next to his boots and reaching for another fruit

Hell, this demon was going to eat practically all of Corbin’s food. He picked up his wallet, whistling for Orion before making his way to the door. “I’m going to the store,” he huffed.
"Hm? Dont die." Matrix chuckles at his own twisted humor. He stands and kicks his boots back on, "Meanwhile Ill go find a place to crash." He walks to a window feet from the door and jumps out through it. He walks into the forest and disappears
pets
Corbin huffs sharply, walking out the door and locking it behind him. He limped over to his pickup truck, getting into it with a bit of difficulty and opening the passenger side for Orion. He started the truck, pulling out of the driveway and down the road.
Matrix watches the car leave from the branch of an old maple tree. He narrows his eyes and looks around the forest, "This has to be the stupidest thing I have ever done."

Corbin pulled up to the small convenience store only about a mile down the road. He got Orion out, then himself after parking. He walked into the store, grabbing a small basket to put his groceries in.
Matrix leans his head back. His horns catching slightly on overhead branches and leaves.

After a few minutes, Corbin had bought what he needed, paying before getting into his truck and leaving. He pulled back into his driveway, getting out of the truck and opening Orion’s door so he could get out. He opened the back door, grabbing a few of the bags and sighing when he realized he would have to make more than one trip.
