After feeling her intentions, Wren willingly hugged her, cradling her delicate figure in his arms. He stayed absolutely silent, resting the side of his chin on top of her head lightly.
Following a brief moment, he mumbled softly, “It’s ok.”
He had no clue if he was trying to comfort her or convince himself, but they clearly both needed to hear it.
"I sure hope so." She said quietly. After a few moments she got up off of him, her hands gently folding into his. She had long fingernails she kept sharpened to a point, to be used as weapons at any time. She took a few breaths, wiped away at her tears, and then sat there, staring at him for a little bit. "What…what do we do now?" She asks quietly, the fear showing up back in her eyes.

“Your choice,” he said gently. His warm hands wrapped around hers as his eyes wandered elsewhere.
“I’m willing to try, and risk facing the consequences. But, whatever you decide, I’ll respect. Whichever way, we’ll do it together. You won’t be alone in whatever happens.”
He took a shaky breath as his heart began its slow recovery to beating at a normal speed. He brought his chocolate eyes back to the woman, awaiting an answer.
"…I. I don't want to die." She said quietly, swallowing the lump in her throat as she looked down at their hands for quiet a while. But eventually she sat up a bit, and kissed his cheek oh so gently that if he didn't sit there and watch her do it, he might've never noticed it happening. She then plopped down back into seat, her eyes immediately going down to their hands as she blushed red and redder.

In response to the peck, Wren fumbled over his words in his head a good few moments before replying.
“I won’t let you,” he promised. “No matter what.” The skin on his cheek tingled as he focused where her lips had made contact.
"Mhm. For a first boyfriend? You seem to have gotten attached awful fast…I just hope you're true to your word." She said,her voice starting off normal but getting quieter with each word.

Wren raised an eyebrow. “Even if I wasn’t I would still say the same.”
He sighed, closing his eyes for a long while before continuing.
“I’ve known you forever. Grew up with you even. You’re part of my pack. That sounds terribly cheesy and horrid, but we attach to people in that way.”
"Must I remind you yet again I am no wolf? I am not a follower, but a leader in my own right." She said defensively. She then softened a bit. "But. Thank you all the same."

Wren smiled softly, his eyes gently gazing at Val. He laughed slightly at the though of it, but continued.
“I never said you were a wolf, and I never said you weren’t the alpha.”
"What you say and what you imply are two different matters entirely." She said plainly with a shrug, a sass to her tone. She was actually really enjoying her time with him. It made her happy.

He rolled his eyes, smiling. “Val. Just take the compliment. Don’t question me.”
Wren had to resist the urge to just hug her again then and there as he smiled down.
(NO HUG HER) "I shall question whatever the hell I like, Wren." She said proudly, a wide teasing smile on her face as she squeezed his hands a bit.

Wren grinned, looking away and blushing. “Of course. Of course you will.” He stopped for a moment, glancing back over at her, then back to the various book shelves.
“So… we’re doing this?”
She nodded slowly. "Somehow. Yes." She said softly, her eyes remaining on him and his more rough, pudgy features as he looked around. "I hope you know you're really handsome, even without a suit on." She said softly.

“Is that so?” he asked, his voice sounding more like a statement than a question. “Thank you.” His cheeks flushed a deep red as he kept his eyes wandering.
“You’re beautiful, too,” he said. “Just so you know.”
"And how would you know that if you won't even bother to look at me while you say it?" She asks in a somewhat teasing, somewhat annoyed tone of voice, glaring just a bit as her eyebrows knitted together.

Wren looked over at her, his heart thumping in his chest as he smiled.
“You’re beautiful,” he said. “That better for you?”
She blushed and nodded, smiling softly. "Thank you." She then hugged him softly, enjoying his warmth. All vampires were cold so warm was a new thing to her. And she liked it a lot. She liked him a lot.

Wren didn’t think his face could get any redder, but his blood had other ideas, rushing to his cheeks as he blushed and hugged her back. He smelled just like his jacket— still somehow chocolaty.
"Why does all of you smell like chocolate?" She asked softly,not letting go of him yet, smiling softly as she put her face into his neck.

“I really have no clue,” he replied, just happy to be in her embrace. He closed his eyes, again resting the side of his chin on the top of her head, smiling.
Eventually after a while her mother yelled up the stairs that dinner was ready. Not wanting to get up, Valentina got up with a groan, took a few breaths, and her coldness seeped back into her as she very promptly drifted down the stairs with arrogance and grace, and headed into the dining room.

Wren pushes himself to his feet, shuffling to the door. He looked back into the library, seeing the book floating slightly. He shook his head with a smile, following Val down the stairs.
Valentina sat down at the table as the food was served and she began to eat, acting like as if she wasn't just falling in love moments ago.

Wren ate slower than he normally had, still trying to process the entire situation. His movements were hesitant and delayed, but he seemed on the outside his happy-go-lucky self. Beneath, he was having multiple panic attacks at the same time.
Valentina was quiet and calm. She could stay cool in a million degree weather though. She seemed almost flawless and she prided herself on that. Always able to keep control. She finished quickly and cleared the table. And soon enough, it was time for Wren to go home. She for once didn't want him to go but she still treated him the same. "Goodbye Wren, have fun slaughtering sheep tomorrow." She said with an eyeroll, arms crossed over her chest.

Wren narrowed his eyes. He would have been offended by this, but his tone was much more lighthearted.
“You know I don’t kill,” he said. “Yes, that makes the bloodlust more dangerous, yada yada.”
He waved off his hand, shaking his head. “But I can control it. We have a basement for a reason.”
He had to keep from visibly shuttering, but managed to do so. Everything was true. Every time he had to transform, he locked himself in his basement and hoped for the best.
Her eyes softened a bit but quickly hardened. "Well. Have fun anyways." She waved a goodbye and then went to her room as the sun set, and stayed up all night. She normally slept all day and lived through the night except when going to school, so she was exhausted. Still she watched black and white horror movies and ate cookies in the shapes of bats and drank her heated blood. All in all, today for her as a good day.

Wren, back at his own house, was sitting in his room contemplating. His hands were clasped together, resting his chin on them as he hunched over at his desk. He had his elbows propped on the table, and his eyes staring at the clock.
Of course, he was now wearing baggy clothes, many sizes too big. He hated ripping clothes when he transformed.
Wren’s ears twitched with each tick of the clock. Midnight would be there soon enough.
