Carrio smiled at her, turning to face her. “Did you get something to drink? Get a doughnut?”

Turning, Hazel gave a small nod. "Yes to the first, no to the second," she replied with a small smile.

(Our other RP?)

Carrio waved his hand. “Come on, you gotta get a doughnut! Come ooooonnnn.”

(I just responded to it)
Hazel lightly chuckled at Carrio's behavior. In her mind, she really didn't need all the extra sugar. It was always super kind of the other to purchase them from day to day however.
"I'm fineeeee," she replied in a similar tone.

Carrio nudged her chair, since it was a wheeley one, it went a couple feet.
“Come oooooonnnn… I know you want ooooneeee….”

Hazel gripped the arms of the chair in surprise at the sudden movement, only to look up at Carrio with an unamused expression.
"No, really. It's okay."

Carrio chuckled at her reaction. He pulled her over again, smiling.
“Okay, okay.”

Offering a soft smile back, Hazel returned to watching the other customers. She nearly became giddy at the sight of someone pulling out one of the new YA novels she had recently shelved. It was by a newly starting author she had heard about. Said book was about a relationship between two high school students who both didn't exactly fit in. It was cliche in some ways, but had a new take on the topic.

Carrio had disapproved of the YA novels before, but he had accepted them. They were always getting swept out of the shelves, getting he and Hazel more money. Which mainly went into the health of the library.

(I actually just went to a thing at my school called Lit Fest and got a new book and I'm hyped. The author signed it but also wrote "John Green killed my dog" for some reason???)

"I'm not sure as of why you have a distaste for YA novels. Most are quite similar to realistic fiction," Hazel commented just before a patron approached to check out a dystopian novel and some sort of cook book.
Quickly stamping the paper in the back covers of the books for the return date, she slid them gently across the counter happily. It was quite nice to see how far her social abilities had come.

(Lol, that makes sense. I’m not really surprised.)

Carrio rolled his eyes as he typed the book name into the catalog. “I don’t dislike them. I just think they’re too… sappy.”

group
@Painted-Iris group

"Which means you aren't fond of them. A synonym being distaste, Carrio," Hazel pointed out, trying not to chuckle as she said this.

Carrio rolled his eyes. “Too sappy. Too money-making. But it helps us rake in more people, so I’m not complaining.”

Hazel stuck her tongue out teasingly in retaliation before returning to messing around with a pen in front of her. After the moment from earlier, she now had her stifling jacket over the back of the chair she sat in. Things were okay here.

Carrio yawned and stretched out his arms, shaking his head wildly as he exhaled. He loved the quiet environment of his library. He loved it so much, especially with Hazel joining him in it.

Seeing the motion out of the corner of her eye, she saw Carrio shaking his head, hair whipping as well. Raising a brow, she snickered slightly at his behavior.

Carrio heard her snicker and glanced over. “What’re you laughing about, lady?” He laughed.

To prove her point, Hazel shook her head just as Carrio had done moments ago. After the short moment, she replied, "Oh, just your exaggerative yawn."

Carrio watched her. “There’s no way I yawned like that. No way.”

"Oh yeah you did," she argued with a chuckle. Hazel had her arms loosely crossed over her chest, smirking ever so slightly.

Carrio rolled his eyes and turned in his chair. “Nope. There’s no possible way, that is just ridiculous.” He chuckled softly.

Hazel shook her head lightly, turning back towards the work in front of her. "A ridiculous action from a ridiculous person," she teased lightly.

Carrio turned back to his laptop with a chuckle. “I prefer weird.”

Hazel grinned as the comment was made before another patron walked up to check out their novel. It was simply another horror novel that she hadn't much interest in.

Carrio typed in the book checkout in the catalog anf turned to face her again.
“Ridiculous.”

"Weird," Hazel corrected, using Carrio's own words against him. It was nice when they were able to joke like this. Come to think of it, the young woman thought of her co-worker as her closest friend she had. It felt good to remind herself that fact that he cared.
