"That's good. I wish I had that kind of confidence." Lloyd laughed weakly. "Unfortunately, I don't have much confidence in my own abilities. I never was able to stand up to the jerks who destroyed my self esteem."

Rowan shrugged, It's easier if you've been beaten down your entire life. It makes me want to get better. Prove everyone wrong!

Melissa listened to the conversation, keeping her veil of hair around her face.

"I have, it's just I never was told anything good about myself. No parents, friends, you know."
