“Is there a clock somewhere in here?” Rose continued, slipping his hands into the back pockets of his loose jeans.

“Is there a clock somewhere in here?” Rose continued, slipping his hands into the back pockets of his loose jeans.
He looked around, spotting a clock in the corner. "Over there."

Rose gave a quick ‘Thank you’ before getting up and stepping over to the clock. He looked at the time- 11:36- then down at himself. He supposed that this would be okay to go to work in, he had just gotten a painting job at a nearby cafe. He was supposed to go there from 12:00 to 4:00 and work on painting a certain nature scene on this large stretch of wall. “I have to go to work soon,” he mumbled.
Cade frowned, not sure what to say. After a moment he decided to be bold. His heart rate quickened, and he turned to Rose. "Well, could I get your number, so we can talk again sometime?"

Rose was a bit taken aback that Cade asked for his phone number. “Oh, um, of course,” He stammered in a slightly nervous way, snatching a sticky note and pen from a nearby desk. He wrote down his phone number on the paper and held it out to Cade.
He smiled shyly and took the sticky note, starting at it in slight disbelief. I didn't get rejected, he thought. Cade looked back up at Rose. "Great. I'll call you sometime."

Rose’s cheeks tinted a light pink and he nodded. “Sounds great,” He said, resisting the urge to grin like a madman as he walked out of the bookstore.
Cade looked down at his shoes, then glanced over at Rose through the window. Not being able to help himself, he did a little fist pump, then flopped over on a beanbag.

Rose walked the short distance to the cafe, Cade still on his mind. He wondered why, out of all people, Cade had come and talk to him. And he had a weird energy coming off of him that Rose couldn’t quite place. He pushed open the door to the cafe as he went inside, being greeted by a cashier with a smile and wave. He waved back at the woman and went over to the far wall, hands on his hips as he looked at the painting. It was barely started, he would have much work to do.
(do you want to do a time skip or keep our characters doing their own thing for a while?)
pets
(We can time skip probably. They could meet up for dinner or something?)
(sure. Should we start with Cade calling him or skip to the dinner?)
pets
(Maybe calling? Because that could be cute? Lol)
(lol okay sounds good. You wanna start or should I?)

(I will ig)
Rose was back home, changing into a different pair of clothes. He had paint splatters from the acrylics all over his jeans and sweater. That would be a living nightmare to try and get out.
Cade sat at his table, reading a book. It was quiet in the house, and he was bored. There were tons of empty water bottles and gallons scattered around him, and he was still thirsty ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). He fidgeted a bit, glancing over at his phone a few times, and his mind wandered back to Rose. Was it too soon to call?

(oH)
Rose was wearing a bit more relaxed style of clothing now. He walked into his kitchen, his oversized shirt almost covering his loose shorts. He looked through his fridge for something to make for dinner, humming along to a tune as he did so.
(lmao)
With a sigh of frustration, Cade closed his book and set it down on the table, reaching for his phone. He had already entered Rose in as a contact, so he brought him up on the phone. Cade hesitated before he dialed, taking in a deep breath before finally calling. He didn't even know what he was going to say.

Rose had his head in the fridge when he heard his phone ring. He stood straight quickly. Cade? was what flashed hopefully in his mind as he hurried over to where he left it on his kitchen counter. “Hello?” He answered quickly.
Cade swallowed. "H-hi. It's Cade, from earlier. Is this Rose?"
pets
“Yes!” Rose exclaimed, almost a bit too excitedly before he calmed himself. “It’s great to hear from you again.”
(I keep drifting asleep so I'm gonna take a nap real quick)
Cade smiled, leaning against the counter. "Same to you. How was your day?"
pets
(Yeah, that’d be best)
“Oh, it was amazing! I got to paint a lot at work so that was fun,” Rose rambled on. “How was your day?”
"Mine was okay, a little boring though. What did you paint?"
pets
“I’m painting a mural at the café down the street from the bookstore. I forget what it’s called..” Rose said, trailing a finger over his lower lip piercings.
"I'd love to see it," Cade said. He glanced at the clock. There were still a few hours left in the day. "Do you think we could meet up somewhere, and you could show me?" His heart started pounding again.
pets
“Oh, um, sure!” Rose stammered. “I’m not quite done with it yet, though..”
"I'd still love to see it if that's okay."
pets
“It’s totally okay, I’d be glad to show you,” Rose said, smiling to himself
"Okay," Cade said. He laughed nervously. "Maybe we can get dinner or something too?"
