Sebastian thumbed through a book of poetry, eyes drifting over the words without really taking anything in. His mind was too far away, fixated on the shining point known to him as James. After a few minutes of failed reading, he sighed and picked up his phone, dialling his number.
James was cleaning when he heard his phone go off. He looks at the phone and picks it up. "Hey there, Bassy! What can I do for ya?" He says, continuing with the dishes.
Bassy. Sebastian bit his lip. "Hey, James. I was, uh- I was wondering if you were busy today?"
"No, not really. Wanna hang out?" He asks, smiling as he cleans the kitchen, finishing the dishes and sweeping. "I get my break today, so I don't really have to work about my job."
"Great– great. I was thinking a movie? There's a bunch of good stuff on."
James nods. "That sounds great!" He says excitedly.
Sebastian swallowed. “Great. Uh— meet me at my place in about twenty minutes?”
James nods, "Sounds wonderful! I can't wait!" He finishes the kitchen and looks at himself. He was filthy. He planned on a shower and cleaner clothes. "See you in twenty!"
“Awesome.” Sebastian hung up, hurrying to his room to change.
James quickly showers and changes before hurrying to his car. He drives to Sebastian's house.
Sebastian heard the sound of a car engine pulling into his apartment building’s parking lot just as he was buttoning the top button of his simple cream polo. He grabbed his stuff and ran out to meet James.
James waves and smiles, unlocking the car for Sebastian. "Hey Bassy! You look nice!"
Sebastian flushed slightly, getting in. “Same to you, how are you?”
James winks. "Better with you at my side. Shall we go watch a movie?"
Sebastian’s pulse fluttered weakly. “Oh. Oh— uh, yeah. Yeah.”
James flashes a breathtaking smile before backing out of the driveway and starts to drive to the movie theater.
Sebastian wanted to melt into a tiny puddle, heart thumping loudly. “What— What kind of movies do you— do you like?”
James shrugs. "Anything really. I'm up for whatever you want to see!" He says happily.
Sebastian grinned sheepishly. “Have you seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them? The second one just came out.”
James perks. "The first one was incredible! Let's go see it!" He says excitedly.
Sebastian grinned. “Awesome.”
He smiles and drives into the parking lot for the movie theater. "Alright. Let's go have some fun!"
Sebastian took hold of Jame’s hand as they entered the theatre, grinning like an idiot.
James smiles and leads them into the theater, buying snacks and tickets for the other.
They sat together, a bag of popcorn between them. Sebastian was debating whether or not to lean his head on James’s shoulder.
James takes a bite of popcorn, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. He was so happy. He loved hanging out with the other.
Sebastian went beet red, but he stayed perfectly still, afraid that he would scare James off by moving.
James smiles happily. He was loving the movie. He sighs with happiness, watching the movie excitedly.
