It was another not-so-busy day of work for Amyr. A few orders coming in quick and the people leaving nearly just as fast. It almost made him feel as if he never got a chance to say hello. He rested his head on the counter and sighed, staring at the ticking clock and waiting for his shift to end. It felt like it was taking forever, though it was only five minutes away.
At the end of his shift, he walked right out of the café, hanging his apron on a rack on the way out. He decided to read at the park for a little. Though in a few hours, he found that "a little" hadn't been so. He found himself with his eyes caught on a night sky. The stars dotting the black like the freckles of the sentient unknown. He decided to walk the night before finally returning home.
On his walk around the park, he'd taken deep breaths. His strides were strong. It was almost as if he was walking his stress into the ground, grinding it into the dust for the earthworms to live in. He was almost so absorbed in the rhythm of his march that he didn't notice a gecko scamper out from the pocket of a blurred figure. He let out a loud shriek in shock and jumped back slightly, at the creature, quite unsure what it was.
