Jared ate quietly, not looking directly at Victor.

Victor glances up at Jared, his eyes soft. "How's the food?" He asks quietly.
"It's good. Thanks." He replied softly, looking at Victor with a faint, hesitant smile.
He nods and smiles warmly as he slowly ate, his eyes softening. He knew the other was tense. "Do you want me to stay in your room tonight?" He asks gently.
He bit his lip faintly. "I…if…if you're okay with it, I…I don't want to…make you do anything you don't want to…"
He smiled and shook his head. "It's no problem, really." He says gently. "I promise it's alright. If it helps you feel safer, I will gladly stay with you tonight."
He nodded a little. "Then…please." he said softly, looking down at his plate and taking a deep breath.
"Of course." He smiles gently and finishes off his food. "Whatever you need." He comforts. He stands and washes off his dishes before settling on the couch.
He finished his food, taking care of his dishes and then sitting down on the couch as well, leaning his head on the arm of it.
He picked up a book and started reading through it, humming softly along with the radio. "You're welcome to explore the house, watch tv, whatever is to your liking." He glances up from his book and smiled warmly at the other.
He shrugged his shoulders faintly. "Okay. Thanks." He said softly.
He nods slowly, "Whatever you need." He smiles gently. He wasn't sure how he could help the other, but he wanted to.
He looked down at his hands.

Soon enough, it was bedtime, and Jared headed down to the guess bedroom. He had borrowed pajamas from Victor, and changed into them before climbing into the bed.
Victor had settled in Jared's room for the night, since the other had requested his presence. He smiles gently at Jared. "Are you comfortable?"
He looked up at Victor, rolling onto his side and nodding a little. "I…yeah." he said softly.
He smiled warmly, his eyes soft. "Please rest, I'll be right here if you need me."
(Maybe what happens is Jared is having trouble sleeping, or is having a nightmare, and Victor gently touches his hand or shoulder and Jared just clings to him or something?)
He nodded a little, reaching up and turning off the lamp. "Okay." He said softly.

He nods slowly as the other settled down into bed. Victor's eyes slowly adjust to the dark, easily picking up on shadows where the moonlight filtered in.
He started to fall asleep, curled up on his side.
Victor kept a careful eye on that before humming quietly as he gazed out where the curtains cracked. He stayed by Jared's side as he slept.
After a while, Jared started to twitch and whine in his sleep, curling tighter with his face pinched.
Victor's head shot up and he walked slowly towards the others side, gently sitting on the bed and taking his hand. "Easy now…" He murmured softly, hoping the other could hear him in his sleep.
