Jared kept eating, still talking quietly with Victor.

Once the main course was done, he hesitated, his eyes shutting for a moment as he he waited. He let the food settle in his stomach before glancing at Jared, making sure he was okay.
Jared settled back in his seat when he finished, rubbing his face with a hand.
He hummed quietly as he waited, his eyes soft as he glances over at Jared. He leans over, "How are you feeling?" He asks gently.
Jared shrugged a little. "Mm, fine. You?"
He hummed. "I'm alright." He smiles softly at the other. "Give me the word, and we can leave if you need to get some fresh air." He whispered.
"We haven't had dessert yet, that would be rude." he replied softly.
He nods a little bit, "But your comfort is also important." He replies quietly. "Tap my wrist twice if you need a break, okay?" He asks gently.
He smiled a little, nodding. "Yeah. Thank you." dessert was finally served, and Jared sat forward to eat some of it. After about five minutes, his phone pinged in his pocket, and he frowned a little bit. Around the table, some other people were also checking their phones, eyebrows flickering up at whatever they found.
(is it unrealistic that they would all find out at the same time? a little bit. am i doing it anyway for drama? yes, yes i am)

Victor glanced over at the other, "Everything okay?" He asks quietly, confused and alert at the sound of the phones going off.

Jared pulled out his phone to check, uncertain. "I don't know." he replied, unlocking his phone to see what the notification was.
He nods slowly, keeping an eye on the guests around them, his eyes narrowing slightly. He didn't like this one bit.
Jared inhaled sharply, sinking back in his chair and covering his face with a hand, face pale.
"Jared, what's wrong?" He whispers softly, his hand resting on Jared's firmly. "Do you need to go outside?"
Jared nodded quickly, wanting to get away from the looks people were starting to give him. "Please."
He nods and stands, shielding Jared from the judgmental eyes and hurrying him outside and away from people. He held onto his arm the entire time, his eyes soft as they make it out into the open and fresh air.
Jared let out a shaky breath, unable to stop thinking about the headlines and the scrap of picture he had seen in the preview.
He gently pulls the smaller male into a hug, hiding him from the world and gently running his hand through his hair. "I've got you, it's okay." He murmured softly.
He was trembling faintly, pressing closer to Victor. "Victor…I…"
"Well… I don't think it's okay. But we'll work through it." He murmured gently. He ran his hand through Jared's hair, his eyes soft as he looks down at the smaller male. "Focus on breathing right now, okay? Breathe, and then talk."
Jared did his best to focus on his breathing, slowl y calming down a bit more.
Victor held onto him gently, his eyes soft and his embrace warm. "I've got you." He murmured gently. "I've got you."
He leaned into Victor, taking a deep breath.
Victor kept a firm grasp on him, his eyes gentle as he kept him close. He wasn't sure what was happening but he wanted to keep Jared safe.
He shuddered a little bit, letting out a faint breath.
"Once you're feeling better, is it something you can tell me?" He asks gently.
