"Well, I appreciate it, no matter the reason," Alistair said with a grateful smile as they approached the hospital, which was close by. "Do you live around here? Is there anyone you'd like to call?"
IS HE GAY?... Or European? (One on One// Closed)
"I live around here, and the only family I have is my dog." Antoine says casually, shrugging. He didn't really know what the big deal was, but hey, it was pretty weird that Alistair wasn't freaked out by the fact that he didn't feel pain.
Alistair's eyes brightened for a moment. "I love dogs!" he said. "I have an Aussie, but she's at the vet right now." He tilted his head as he looked down at Antoine. "So," he started. "You don't feel pain. Do you have type of CIPA?"
"Yeah. I can't recall what it's called, but my body releases so many endorphins that I don't feel anything." He shrugs slightly. "It's dangerous for me, since I can be shot and not even realize it until it's to late. I can bleed out, or break something and never know." He looks out the back windows. "That's why I don't really understand people. And some take offense because they feel pain and I can't relate. I've just kind of given up on trying to meet people since I end up offending them or something."
"I did a paper on CIPA in med school," Alistair said, nodding. "So I can see where the danger part comes in, along with the example in front of me, and I can get why there would be misunderstandings with others over the difference."
The ambulance soon came to a stop at the hospital, and both men were taken inside.
(would you mind if we skipped past all the medical stuff? I don't know how to write it)
Sure//
okie… can you go? idk what to say next///
After being taken care of and all that, Antoine was relaxing in one of the hospital rooms, looking rather bored. The doctor had wanted him to stay the night so they could watch his vitals and do a few more tests. He had told them he was fine, but they didn't believe it since they had the stupid records about his disease. He sighs softly, tapping his finger bordely on the armrest.
It took about 45 minutes for the hospital to check him out, have him sign some papers, and give the police a statement about the crash. Then, he made his way to Antoine's room and knocks softly on the door.
"Hey, may I come in?" he asks.
Antoine looks up when he hears a knock. "C'mon in." He says, rather boredly. He sighs softly and looks up at the door, his eyes dull with boredom and fatigue.
"Can I get anything for you?" Alistair asked, walking over to the bed. "Book, game, food, anything?"
"If you wouldn't mind just talking with me, I'd appreciate it." he says casually, leaning back.
"Sure!" Alistair replied, pulling over a chair and sitting by the bed. "Soooo… whadaya wanna talk about, Reveille?"
"Toni is fine." he says, a small smile gracing his lips. "The basics, I suppose. Where are you from, pets, favorite hobbies, color? I dunno."
"Alrighty, Toni," Alistair said with a grin. "Well, I'm from Bath, England, I have an Aussie named Stormfly, and my favorite color is dark green. Now your turn!"
"Hehe, well, believe it or not, but I'm from Paris, France. I have a Japanese Spitz named Glitch, and I love the color midnight blue." He says, humming in thought.
"Paris is a lovely city, I love the Louvre," Alistair said. "Ok, hmmm, how about… what's your favorite book?"
"That's a good one, I have a lot actually." He says, shrugging. "What about you?"
"Hmmmm… probably The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy," Alistair replied after a moment's consideration. "How about favorite musical?"
"Hamilton." he says, laughing a little. "What can I say, I'm a history geek."
"That's a good one!" Alistair said, his eyes lighting up. "For me, it's probably Wicked. I can relate to Elphaba finally embracing her differences."
"Ah, Wicked." he gives a wistful sigh. "That was the first Broadway I ever saw." He says chuckling. "Hmm… favorite food?"
"Fettechini alfredo with chicken," Alistair replied instantly. "What about you?"
"Any type of pasta." he says, laughing a little.
"Can't go wrong with that," Alistair says with a smile. "How about dessert?"
"Mmm… I love cold things." He says, humming in thought. "You?"
"Ice cream, preferably strawberry or cookies and cream," Alistair replied after a moment. "We should go out for ice cream once you out of here."
"I'd like that." He says, humming as he leans back, looking towards the other.
"Excellent!" Alistair said happily. "There's a great spot near my apartment. I likely frequent it far too often."
