Whitehot's disguise of light fell away, and she stared at Element in shock. "How did you know I was here?" she wondered. No one ever saw through the light trick, not even her own superhero boyfriend, Nightquake.
Lonely (aka, another Superhero RP)
"I have my secrets." she shrugged.
"Okaaay," Whitehot said. "Anyway. I want you to tell me more about this 'Golden Star.' Is it a group? An actual star?"
"Well NO its a group. They steal artifacts from museums."
"Okay. So tell me about them." Whitehot demanded, then she looked thoughtful for a moment. "Actually, follow me. We should talk about this here, and I know a good place."
(*shouldn't) (oops!)
Kylie was busying herself in the library, flipping through books in the Magic section, trying to locate an answer. Mark had provided her with the bodies of the victims; they all had strange marking burned into their bodies. Kylie sighed when the thirtieth book she got contained no such information. Huffing, Kylie closed the book and leaned back in her chair, biting her lip.
Kylie's sensitive ears twitched as a voice reached them, and curiously she moved her eyes towards the source and locked eyes with a woman. There were two of them, and the way they were standing, their bodies tensed, made Kylie realize they were talking about something extremely important. It piqued Kylie's interest, especially when she heard 'Golden Star.'
"Actually, follow me," said the girl Kylie locked eyes with. "We shouldn't talk about this here, and I know a good place."
Something in Kylie told her these two weren't up to anything good. She could tail them easily, but it wasn't something she would concern herself with. They were dealing with Golden Star; she was dealing with something else. She knew, like any Hunter, that interfering with another's mission gave a harsh punishment, but only if you screwed things up. So Kylie resumed reading her book as she watched the two girls walk away from the corner of her eyes.
Whitehot locked eyes with a girl on the other side of the library. The girl quickly shifted her gaze back down to her book, but Whitehot could tell that she wasn't paying it much attention. Her posture was too tense, not relaxed like it should have been if she was doing something innocent. Whitehot groaned inwardly. She didn't want to have to deal with more people than she had to for this mission.
"Wait here for a second," she said, turning to face Element. "I'll be back in a few."
Whitehot walked over to the girl and cleared her throat. "Excuse me," she said. "Do you happen to have to the time?"
"Excuse me," a voice interrupted Kylie's train of busy thoughts. "Do you happen to have the time?" Kylie looked up slowly, her red eyes once again locking with the eyes of the girl from earlier.
"As you can see," Kylie murmured, her eyes half closed as if she was disinterested. "I'm quite busy. But I could spare some time if this is important."
Red eyes. That's a new one, thought Whitehot.
"Well, if you wouldn't mind, I just wondered if you had a phone that I could borrow. You see, I'm supposed to check up on a friend today, but I seem to have forgotten my phone at home," she said as convincingly as possible. It was a good thing she was one of the best in her theatre class in high school, acting seemed to come in handy when you were a superhero.
(I feel so out of place XD)
(Well, have a character come do something in the library! That could be pretty interesting…)
Loki was sitting in a quiet corner of the library, reading a book while levitating it.
(Yes! The trickster god has arrived! Is this MCU Loki?)
(Yep :)
(Hiddles is love, Hiddles is life)
He tossed it aside with the flick of his wrist, then picked up and opened another, all without touching it. "Ugh," he scoffed. "Human literature is so trivial."
Something fell behind Whitehot, and she turned around to see Loki fling another book to the ground. She rolled her eyes, there were so many random heroes and villains in public places today, it was starting to get annoying.
"Shakespeare not interesting you enough, Loki?" she questioned, glaring at the trickster god.
"Whitehot." Loki greeted her with a crooked smile. "Yes, admittedly, humans aren't nearly as virtuous as my brother perceives them to be."
"Oh, I just saw Thor in the coffee shop earlier. What are you doing here, anyway? Not causing trouble, I hope?" Whitehot questioned, raising an eyebrow.
Loki gritted his teeth under a smile. "Of course not Whitehot. You know me." He smiled slyly. "Just some, eh…light reading."
Narrowing her eyes, Whitehot muttered, "Uh-huh," then turned back to the red-eyed girl in front of her.
( okay I gotta leave this role-play ( UGH IM SORRY ) but feel free to take control of my character! )
(No! Not Element! :( Ok, fine…)
(sorry to see you go :'(
Kylie narrowed her eyes at the girl in front of her. There was no way she wanted to call her friend, not when she seemed to act so suspicious before. But Kylie didn't want to put herself in the spotlight, however before she could utter another word, a very familiar god made himself known.
Loki and Kylie exchanged glances, the trickster giving her a sly smile, while Kylie maintained her blank expression. All the times they both met, Loki was never easy. He tried his hardest to make her mission impossible (no pun intended). Whilst Kylie had never failed a mission, whenever she crossed paths with Loki, things never seemed to be easy. Before Loki could open his mouth to address her, Kylie locked eyes with 'Whitehot' again.
"Your friend, you said?" she murmured, reaching down to get her bag. She pretended to search for her phone inside of her bag all the while conjuring an exact replica of her device. She pretended to find it and took it out casually. That was one of the things she loved about her ability. She could conjure anything, anywhere without giving any sort of indication. All she had to do was think about it and it was there. "Here you go." Kylie handed her phone to the girl, her face blank, void of any emotion. The phone she conjured was rigged, or it wasn't destructive. It contained everything her original did except all the classified information was no longer in it. It came in handy when Kylie needed to push people out of her way.
(Daaaamn she a badass)
(grins thank you!)
The girl reached into her bag and pulled out a phone. "Here you go," she said, handing it to Whitehot, who took it.
"Thanks. I'll just be right back," Whitehot said, walking around the corner.
When she rounded the corner, she turned herself invisible, bending the light around herself. She made the phone invisible, too, and turned the camera on. When she finished, Whitehot turned the corner again, still invisible, and recorded what the girl was doing. She was suspicious of whatever the girl was doing, especially after she had been watching her talk with Element earlier.
With that done, Kylie resumed reading the book. She flipped pages after pages, getting exasperated when she couldn't find anything related to what she was doing. Shutting it quietly, Kylie stood up and grabbed all the books she got from the shelves, the ones she had finished reading. She began to put them on their shelf quietly when a book caught her eye. Curiously, she took it out to read the title.
"Whatchu lookin' at?" startled, Kylie dropped the book. The voice was familiar, and Kylie recognized it as Loki's. He began to laugh, clutching his stomach.
"You should've seen your face!" he chuckled, his laughter increasing when she glared at him.
"Loki," she addressed him. "Is there something I can help you with?"
Loki grinned and shook his head.
"I'm bored, so I decided to tail ya," he replied, the mischevious look in his eyes growing and increasing the dread inside Kylie. "Whatcha lookin' at?"
Kylie sighed.
"A book," she simply replied. "If you wish to waste my time, Loki, then leave."
"You don't want my company?" Loki put his hand over his heart, looking hurt. "What if I said I could help?"
"You've only ever tried making situations worse for me, trickster," Kylie sighed, locking eyes with the god. "What makes you think I will accept your help?"
"Aw, don't be like that," he grinned, then dropped to a light whisper. "You do know that Whitehot's watching you, right?"
Kylie's eyes widened, but she made no sudden movements.
"Well, have fun reading!"
