Loki sauntered away slowly with a big, knowing smile on his face

Whitehot watched Loki sneak up behind the girl and startle her, and she tried to hold back her laughter when the girl jumped at the sound of Loki's voice. Nothing else interesting happened, so she decided to stop trying to figure out what the girl was doing and unbent the light around herself, becoming visible again. Doing the same with the phone, she looked at the video she had taken but saw nothing.

Fine. I'll just delete it, she thought, tapping the button to do so. Then she opened the trash and deleted it from there, too. No need for her to think I'm a stalker. That's wouldn't go over well.

Kylie glared at Loki as he walked away, muttering curses under her breath. Oh, how annoying he was!
Sighing, she turned back to the book she got and finally read the title.
The Codex of Eden
This was it. This book might contain some answers, but when she opened it, she was welcomed with words she could not decipher. Kylie sighed. She should've known it wasn't going to be easy.
Just then, she felt a tap on her shoulder and Whitehot came into her vision.

"Here's your phone back. Thanks, again, for letting me borrow it," Whitehot said, handing the girl her phone back.

Kylie simply nodded, taking back the phone and slipping it into her bag. She closed her bag and willing the fake phone to disappear. Kylie bit her lips. She wasn't good at deciphering words written in codes. She couldn't ask anyone else back at the guild. It was annoying since everyone was competitive and they wouldn't do favors without anything in return. She didn't know anyone who could help her.
I really shouldn't have taken this mission… she thought to herself, sighing. But she had accepted it, and now she had to complete it. Abandoning it would leave a dent in her guild profile.

Whitehot turned around to join Element again, but she had disappeared. Crap. I should've known, she thought. Ah, well. I won't be catching up to her anytime soon.

Facing the other girl again, Whitehot sat down in the chair across from her. The girl didn't so much as look up at her. Whitehot leaned back into the chair, crossing her arms and legs and looking intimidatingly calm.

Kylie felt Whitehot's eyes on her, but she tried not to notice. Kylie figured Whitehot might leave her alone if she ignored her, but it didn't go exactly as Kylie wanted it to. Whitehot remained seated, looking calm. Before Kylie could open her mouth and question the girl, her phone rang.
"Mark," she muttered when she answered the phone. "I'm busy."
"Sorry, Ky, but the master sort of wants to see you," he replied, sounding a little breathless.
Kylie raised her eyebrows.
"Everything good?" she asked quietly, knowing the master wouldn't be calling her if it was.
"I don't know; he wouldn't tell me. Said it was to be heard by you and you alone," he released a large breath. "Look, I gotta go, but get here as fast as you can."
Sighing, Kylie took the phone away from her ear. Seems like she would have to check the book out.

"Your boyfriend okay?" Whitehot asked the girl, raising an eyebrow and smirking. "He sounded worried."

"Your boyfriend okay?" Kylie's head snapped up. She looked wide-eyed at Whitehot, who had an eyebrow raised and a smirk dancing across her lips. "He sounded worried."
Kylie forced herself to remain calm.
"He is not my boyfriend," she kept her voice leveled. Or at least, tried her hardest to do so. "He is… a coworker. A friend."

Whitehot held back a chuckle. It sounded like she'd hit a nerve in mentioning a boyfriend, which could help her get some information out of this girl.

Leaning further back into her chair, Whitehot drawled, "Uh-huh. If you say so, sweetheart."

@kawaiisenpai

Loki sent a message her way, through the air. A breath touched her ear; "You know how to contact me if you want help with that book, love."

"You know how to contact me if you want help with that book, love." Kylie's ear tickled, eyes narrowing as the familiar voice filled her ears.
As if she'd ask help from him. He wouldn't offer her help if he didn't have something he could get in return. That, or to put Kylie in his debt. Whatever the reason was, Kylie wasn't going to ask him for help.
Kylie gave Whitehot another suspicious look before standing up. Without another word, she turned her heel and began to walk towards the librarian to get the book checked out. Mark had said to come quickly. She would get there as fast as she could.

@kawaiisenpai

Loki chuckled deeply from his stoop. She'll know, he thought. She'll know.

Whitehot watched as the girl's eyes narrowed for seemingly no reason. When the girl stood up and walked away, Whitehot sighed in exasperation.

Will nobody be cooperative today? she thought, standing up and following the girl. She turned invisible again, so as not to be noticed by the girl, and followed her to the check-out desk. As soon as the red-eyed girl checked out her book and walked away from the desk, Whitehot reappeared by her side.

Kylie sighed in exasperation as Whitehot appeared in her vision once again. Why was she so persistent? What did she want from her? Kylie didn’t remember meeting her before today, so what did she need from Kylie? As far as Kylie recalled, she didn’t have any enemies trailing after her, if you didn’t count anyone from her guild.
“Is there something you want from me?” Kylie asked, an eyebrow raised. This was the most she paid attention to another person who wasn’t Mark. Yeah, maybe Kylie needed to improve her communication skills.

"I know you heard my conversation with Element about the Golden Star. I need to know exactly what you heard," Whitehot demanded, crossing her arms over her chest.

Kylie raised an eyebrow. That was it? That’s all she wanted to know?
“Absolutely nothing that I could sell to anyone,” she drawled. When Whitehot’s glare deepened, she sighed. “‘Actually, follow me. We shouldn't talk about this here, and I know a good place,’ is what I heard. Done with the interrogation?”

"If you insist that is all you heard, then, yes, I suppose we're done here," Whitehot said, her eyes penetrating as she continued to glare.

Kylie turned around to leave before she decided to help Whitehot a little bit. She rummaged through her bag for something and took out a card, twirling it around her fingers before handing it to Whitehot.
“He might be of help,” was all she said before she walked away. If Whitehot was smart, she would understand.

Whitehot took the card from Kylie, who walked away quickly. When she glanced at the card, she scoffed.

Nightquake - Hero of the city
Contact - Use the "Night Signal"

She gave me a card for my own boyfriend. How does this help me? she thought incredulously.

“You needed me, sir?”
The master, a man in his thirties, looked up from his paperwork to meet Kylie in the eyes. He kept silent, making the girl feel a little uncomfortable.
“Mark said it was urgent,” she tried again, shuffling uncomfortably.
The master sighed, rubbing his temples.
“The mission you took,” he started. “It’s dangerous. Even for you. I want you to give it up.” Kylie narrowed her eyes.
“You’re underestimating me, sir,” she said, sounding offended. “I’m one of your best subordinates. If you didn’t want someone to take this quest, you wouldn’t have had it put up.”
“I… didn’t realize how dangerous it was at first,” the master said, meeting her eyes once again. “Kylie, I want you to know I care about you. I’ve known you ever since you were a child.”
“I know,” Kylie murmured. “But that doesn’t explain anything.”
“You won’t listen, huh…” the master sighed. “I dug around myself, getting information from brokers and warlocks and the like. Do you know about the stolen artifacts?” Kylie nodded. “It seems the murders and the theft are connected.”
Kylie narrowed her eyes.
“I see…”
“And I want you to team up with someone from outside the guild, someone who’s pursuing the theft. It would be easier for both of you if you partnered up.” He slipped a photograph towards Kylie, who looked at it and fell silent.
The woman in the picture was extremely familiar.
Whitehot.

(btw, aren't you going to have one of your own characters brought in to join us?)

@kawaiisenpai

(like to work with them? at some point)

(Yup, to work with them)

@kawaiisenpai

(Mine will be anti-hero/villain is is forced to work with your heroes, lol)

Scalpel
Female
6'1"
(long, swanky, sexy. typical model body, but with more curves. long wavy brown hair, silver-blue eyes)
Scalpel was abandoned as a child and experimented on by a secret organization, through the Weapon X projects. She has telekinesis, telepathy, and the ability to control or change others' bodies at will. Her favorite way to kill is by essentially mutilating her victims while they are alive. Despite her dark powers, she is a friendly person. Just a little crazy. The Joker was her idol as a child. She worked with Deadpool for a few years, so she has quite a mouth.

@RogueSoul

Nice! Or mean. Whatever…

(ooh so we'll have a villain)

@kawaiisenpai

(Her real name is Jordanna, so when she is at her headquarters, she is known as Agent J.)

Agent J checked her assignment folder. Great, a new assignment. She swiped the file onto the screen with her new and improved system from Tony Stark. She read it. She'd be working with….heroes. She almost gagged. As she went down the stairs, she saw a cockroach. She detested bugs. She popped its eyeballs and sliced it in half with her mind and then left it to die on the stairs
