Moxiey ducked her head as a man walked close to her. He stopped and his boots were inches from her face. He looked out over the ocean and Moxiey held her breath. her heart beat rapidly in her ears. He turned and shouted something to the group, who returned with wild catcalls that echoed through the night. Moxiey watched longingly.

Matrix swirled and twisted through the forest of seaweed. His hands at his sides as he zooms through the plants

Moxiey ducked back under the water for a second, allowing pearls of bubbles to cling to her arms. Her fiery tail danced for a moment before she pulled herself above the surface again. The tip of her tail stayed in the water.

Maddox heard a noise to his left and froze for a moment before darting off through the water without warning. Moxiey? Where is she…? He looked rapidly to his left and his right and spotted a flash of bright reddish pink. He shot after it, moving surprisingly quietly considering he was moving so fast.

Moxiey flicked her tail absentmindedly, dreamily watching the men shouting and dancing aboard the deck.

"Moxiey!" Maddox said in a harsh whisper once he had caught up to her. "What are you doing here again?"

"Moxiey!" Maddox said in a harsh whisper once he had caught up to her. "What are you doing here again?"

Moxiey jumped. "Mad! Don't do that! You scared me!"

"Shh!" Maddox looked up at the boat anxiously. "We need to go. Luce has been worrying." He grabbed onto Moxiey's arm and attempted to pull her away.

Moxiey yanked her arm back. "I want to stay here! Humans are so fascinating! Maybe we could get something for your collection?"

"I know, but…" He looked up at the bottom of the boat. "Luce was worried about you, and it's getting late. We really should go." Suddenly he got hit hard on the shoulder by something falling from above. The anchor of the ship. He hissed in pain, holding onto his shoulder with one hand as a few clouds of blood formed. "Come on! We… we need to get out of here…" He started swimming off.

"Maddox! Are you okay?!" Moxiey asked, panicked. Footsteps headed towards the side of the ship and she plunged into the waves. "Mad?"

"I'm fine…" Maddox said quietly, looking around for Lucinda and still clutching his shoulder. "I really hope there's no sharks around… they'd smell my blood from a mile away."

Matrix sighs to himself as he glides, quickly but silently through the water. Then his sharp eyes catch the slowly moving red line and the smell his him hard. Blood.

Maddox froze and turned around, glancing about as though expecting to see someone. "I thought I heard someone swimming…" He whispered, his eyes still darting back and forth anxiously.

Matrix shoots through the slowly deepening red colour of the water

"There's definitely someone there… H-Hello? Who's there?" Maddox moved backwards a bit, nervous.

Matrix stops immediately at the yell, "Crap…"

Who was that?! Maddox pressed himself against some rocks, blood clouding around him gradually.
