Mermaid romance (one-on-one//closed)

Arria giggled, "I quite like the view from where I'm swimming," He gave Carter a kiss on the cheek, "I need to check on the potion, meet me at the rock pool in an hour." He said before swimming back to the city.

Carter turned a deeper red as Arria swam away. He was absolutely flustered. Carter slowly made his way to the rock pool, searching through the water for his ripped pair of shorts. He found it eventually, and draped the torn fabric over himself, the heat not leaving his cheeks as he waited for Arria. “Oh gosh… That was so embarrassing…” Carter said to himself, closing his eyes.

Arria hummed quietly as he finished making the potion. His stomach felt like it was doing flips from excitement and nerves. He put the potion in a couple bottles which he then put in a bag and headed to the surface. When he saw Carter, he swam over, "Everything's done."

Carter turned red again at the sight of Arria, and he tried to spread his torn shorts over himself again, “So you're ready?” He chewed on his lip, looking from the bottle to Arria’s tail.

Arria nodded, "Yeah, only the fact is I don't have any shorts and I'm not ending up with the same fate as you." He said, giggling a little as he gaze flicked down the up to Carter's face again, grinning.

Carter buried his too-red face in his hands, “Aaaaarrrria,” He whined, then trying to stretched the torn shorts over himself better, not moving from his position in the sand. He peeked one eye up to look at Arria. At least the car isn’t parked too far away…

Arria giggled and swam over, "Stop getting embarrassed, you have nothing to be embarrassed about." He said, giving Carter a kiss on the cheek.

“Easy for you to say, merpeople are always covered by scales!” Carter replied stiffly, then sighed, taking off the torn shorts and handing them to Arria, “Use those to cover up,” Carter told him, using his hands as best as he could to cover himself.

"But what about you and getting back on land?" Arria handed the shorts back, "Why don't you use the broken parts of this to go get a none broken pair of shorts, I can wait here while you're gone."

“I’m still going to flash someone, the other half of the shorts are probably floating around somewhere in the ocean.” Rigel pointed out, but slowly made a move to stand. He glanced around, as if just making sure there was no one out this late at night, then looked at Arria and sighed, “Fine, I’ll be back quick.”

Arria nodded, "Alright, see you in a few Carter." He gave him a smile before fiddling with the bottle in his hand then down at his tail, biting his lip.

(Blarrrrgggh, sorry, I’ve been mixing up characters names like crazy today, I meant Carter)
Carter tried his best as he swam back to shore, triple checking no one was out. When he made it to the beach, he sprinted for his car and basically hurled his mostly naked self into it as soon as the door was open. He started up the car, drove to his house and changed, then grabbed an extra pair of shorts and went back out to the beach. Just as he was swimming back to the rock pool, he cursed himself for not bringing his surfboard. It would be easier for Arria to just be able to ride back to shore, he probably didn’t know what it was like to swim with human legs. I’ll just help him swim, maybe then. Carter rounded the rock pool, then smiled at Arria as he held up the pair of shorts, “I’m back.”

"Great!" Arria smiled back and took the shorts, "Don't look." He said, making a motion for Carter to turn around the other way.

Carter turned, giving him a look, and closed his eyes too just because he could, and felt like he needed to. “Let me know when you’re done.”

"Okay." Arria took a breath before taking the potion. At first nothing happened then a sudden burst of pain shot through the center of his tail. He winced and then it felt like his tail was being ripped in two, "Ow…" He muttered closing his eyes until the pain subsided. Once it was gone, he looked down and smiled at his legs. He pulled the shorts on and tightened them so they fit properly, using his arms to keep himself above the water, "O-Okay, I'm done."

Carter turned and immediately came to Arria side, holding him with a slightly worried look, “Are you okay? I heard you say ow… How does it feel? Is it hard to swim? I should’ve brought my surfboard, darn it… I can help you swim back.” In the back of his mind, he realized he was being a mother hen, but he couldn’t help himself. “You look so different with legs…”

Arria gave Carter a smile, "Carter, slow down. I'm fine, a little sore as it felt like I was being ripped in half but fine now. It feels weird and yes it's hard to swim since I-I don't know how to use these things," He looked down at his legs, "I can't believe this… I actually have legs."

Carter smiled, then kissed Arria on the cheek, “This is going to be really fun.” He subconsciously tighten his grip around Arria, as if to make sure he wouldn’t accidentally drown. “You can move your legs though, right? How about your toes?” He fretted again, glancing down at Arria’s legs.

Arria nodded and wiggled his toes before slowly kicking his legs back and forth, his smile widening, "This isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be… I think I'm getting the hang of it." He bit his lip a little as he moved his legs a little faster then slowed them down and repeated a few times to get used to them.

Carter laughed, pulling Arria closer into a hug, “Gosh, this is gonna be so fun! I’m ready when you feel ready, okay?” He wrapped Arria’s hand in his, grinning. He’s gonna get to see my house…

Arria nodded, "O-Okay, I think I'm ready but let's go slow, please. I think walking is going to be harder then just kicking my legs back and forth when we reach land."

“I can help you with walking. I even parked the car close,” Carter gave him a reassuring smile, then slowly started to lead Arria towards the beach, always keeping a steady arm around him, “Try pumping you legs like I am. It’ll help keep you afloat.”

Arria nodded and did as told, "I prefer my tail…" He muttered with a small sigh as he swam towards the beach with Carter. He slowly got better at the kicking the legs thing.

Carter laughed a little, and when he feet hit the sand, his grip tightened around Arria’s waist. “You ready?”

Arris nodded and stood. He was a little wobbly and his grip tightened on Carter so he wouldn't fall but a smile spread across his face and he laughed, wiggling his toes in the sand, "I did it!" He took a step and then another.

Carter smiled, leading them slowly out of the water with a smile, “You’re doing amazing, Arria.” He kept his grip firm around Arria’s waist, ready to catch him if he fell.

Arria smiled at Carter and then gently removed Carter's hand from his waist, "I wanna try by myself." He said, taking one wobbly step by himself then another and looked back at Carter with a grin.

Carter grinned at Arria, “Look at that. My sea boy walking by himself,” Carter was still ready to dive forward and catch Arria, but he was still so happy for him. He took Arria’s hand in his, still grinning at him.

"For the next few hours I'm no longer your sea boy." Arria said, bumping Carter with his hip and giggling, "Right, where are we going?" He asked.

Carter laughed, then led him to his car, “Right over here, then we’ll drive to my house.” He stepped away to open the car door for Arria with a smile, “Right this way, my love.”
