Mermaid romance (one-on-one//closed)

Arria laughed and embraced the other back before pulling away, "Me too," He pulled open the satchel and removed one of the bottles, "Drink this, it'll give you a tail for around three hours or so. I have more that should last you the whole night if need be." He explained, smiling.

Carter could suppress his grin. He planted a kiss on Arria’s lips, then pulled back as he opened the bottle. He drank the bottle, gagged slightly, but then waited. He felt this magnetic pull between his legs, and then he felt like they being wrapped with syrian wrap. His swim shorts tore off as his legs turned into a shimmering minty blue tail. Carter gasped as he beheld the beautiful scales, then he looked up to Arria with a squeal, “Oh my gosh I’m a merman! This is so cool!” He jumped over and hugged him, planting another kiss on Arria’s lips.

Arria giggled and kissed the other back, "Yup, you certainly are. Now you'll be able to keep up with me while we swim." He replied, swimming out into the deeper water, his tail splashing water onto the other, "Come on, the city looks gorgeous at this time of night."

Carter went after Arria, using mostly his hands as he was still getting used to the tail. A tail. I have a tail. Carter grinned as he dove deeper into the water, using his tail to propel himself as he said beneath the surface, “This is so cool!”

Arria laughed, "I know. I'm amazing. No need to thank me." He swam a little faster, flipping once as he swam towards the ever nearing glow of the cities lights, "Hurry up, Carter!" Arria called, laughing and grinning the entire time.

Carter laughed, speeding after Arria until he could sneak up from behind and steal a kiss as he passed by. He grabbed Arria’s hand as he approached the city lights, awe apparent on his face as they swam closer, “I can’t wait, gosh I can wait to see everything!”

Arria laughed, "Then hurry up!" He picked up the speed, still holding Carter's hand as he basically dragged him into the city, "Here we are, home sweet home." It was quite busy, even for this time on night and mer-folk wizzed past, some younger ones saying hello to Arria as they past.

Carter was probably grinning like a madman he was so happy, “Where do we go first?” Carter asked with excitement clear in his voice. There were so many lights and colors… and other merpeople.

Arria shrugged, "There isn't really much to see, we could always go see the castle, I haven't been there myself for ages." He looked over at Carter.

“We are so going to a castle!” Carter exclaimed excitedly, “Wait, does that mean you have merpeople royalty too?” He looked around wildly, as if any of the merpeople around them could be royal. And for a second he wondered if any of the other merpeople realized a stranger was amongst them.

"Of course there is. Who is is going to control everything if things get out of hand. We're not the different from you, you know." Arria replied, smiling as he grab Carter's hand and started swimming down the street.

Carter smiled, swimming to keep up, “So who’s the current ruler?” Swimming after a merman and asking about who is the merpeople ruler… How did this even happen?

"This woman called Isalda and her husband who I don't know the name of." Arria shrugged. And their son is my friend but that's not important… "I don't think I've actually seen Isalda's husband around."

“So are they super secretive and overly protective?” Carter asked with a laugh, imagining merpeople body guards protecting an overly fancy royal party, “Can we enter the palace?”

"Oh yeah, they do tours and what not for the younger ones so I figured we'd do that." Arria replied, smiling, "And they're not that secretive, Isalda and her son are seen around just not the husband."

“Am I sensing a scandal?” Carter asked with a mischievous grin, posing dramatically, “This is just like Young and the Restless, but royalty version,” He acted out fainting, sliding into Arria’s arms with an overly dramatic hand wave. Carter peeked one eye open at the merman, “I don’t think you know what Young and the Restless is, do you?”

Arria smiled down at Carter, "You got that right, I've never heard of it." He said, leaning down to planted a kiss to the others lips, "But the acting was great."

Carter held onto the merman’s head, prolonging the kiss despite the merpeople around them, before murmuring, “Maybe I can take you to my house one day. We could watch tv and you could sit in the bathtub.” He smiled into the other’s lips, tangling on hand in the merman’s hair.

Arria chuckled, "That, or maybe there's a way to give myself legs. But one way or another it's happening." He murmured back, grinning.

“Yes. It. Is.” Carter punctuated every word with a kiss down Arria’s jaw. For a second he wondered about how merpeople viewed the LGBT community, but he brushed the thought away. Carter wasn’t in the closet about it on land, he wouldn’t be in the closet about it in the water.

"If.. if you're going to kiss me like that l-let's not do it in the street and somewhere more secluded." Arria said, giving Carter a smile as he pulled the other down a side street where there wasn't anyone swimming.

“Alright,” Carter said quietly, hoping he didn’t cause too many problems for Arria in the future. If merpeople were harsh about it… Carter frowned at himself, glancing back at where they were wondering if anyone had been paying attention.

"What are you looking at? No one's going to care if we're seen together you know." Arria replied, wrapping his arms around Carter's neck.

“Oh? Thank goodness, I was worried merpeople would give you trouble for it,” Carter muttered, glancing one more time over his shoulder before finally looking forward, giving Arria a smile.

Arria shook his head, "They don't care. There are many couples like this down here, don't worry." He replied, biting his lip.

“That’s cool,” Carter laughed, and was about to comment about some homophobes on land, but then his eyes lit up as he beheld the castle up ahead. It grandeur exerted power like a wave, and his lips parted in awe.

Arria chuckled at Carter's expression and pushed the other away, "Are you going to swim there like a gaping fish or do I have to drag you to the castle myself?" He raised an eyebrow and grabbed the others hand.

Carter laughted at himself, then immediately picked up speed enough to drag Arria just a bit, “Well come on then. This place is so cool!”

"Yes, I'm coming." Arria said, swimming up to the gates of the palace where there was a small group of people heading into the place. The guard were about to say something to them but decided against it after they saw Arria.

Carter grinned at Arria, moving to loop his arm around the merman’s as they entered the castle. “It’s so pretty…” Carter remarked in awe, staring up at it again, “All the lights… It’s so different from on land.” The underwater city reminded him of New York, with so many lights and colors in one place. But the ocean… it was like a better version of land.
