( Ok i think i belive you. But tell me the story)
Modern Mythical Creatures Roleplay (OPEN)
Well. Long story short, I've got bad luck with technology. But it's cool.now.
( Oh)
@WritingGale sure! I'm down to start!
Delta slammed a hand on the table, causing her saltwater latte to spill, the light brown liquid running over the side. "This is absolute bullshit," she ranted to the person across from her. "Sea faeries aren't tourist attractions, we're trained soldiers and sharp-eyed merchants. And Mr. Ferrier expects us to perform? For his pleasure cruise? I don't care how rich he is, this motherfucker is going down."
Max blinked, slightly surprised at the outburst. “That’s pretty messed up of him,” he agreed, folding his arms across his chest and taking a sip of his caramel macchiato. “I’m so in. So what exactly are we doing about it again?”
The sudden outburst had caused Griff, who was sitting at a table next to the duo, to wake up with a start. He stared off into the distance, then blinked a few times and yawned before looking back at his phone. Attempting to mind his own business, Griff began texting his sister. but even though his eyes were focused on his device, he couldnt help but listen in to the strangers conversation.
"I… don't know yet," Delta admitted, sighing. She grabbed some napkins from the dispenser, throwing a giant wad of them on the puddle. "That's why I'm asking you. Hopefully something so embarrassing and reputation-wrecking that it will forbid him from messing with sea faeries- or faeries in general- ever again."
(so in this situation, mr. ferrier, a millionaire asshole, asked delta and some other sea faeries to "perform" on his pleasure cruise. when she turned him down [obviously] he kidnapped a young sea faerie to use as leverage)
Max messed with his snapback. He wasn't the best at this kind of thing, but he was so devoted to his friends and to equality between creatures that would try his best. He frowned in thought for a moment. "Hmm, maybe he's involved in some kind of scandal," Max suggested. "I mean, obviously he already is, but we could spin this so it would wreck his reputation. Or we could try, anyway. Some of us really have the short end of the stick here." He was sort of referring to the scar on his cheek and his past fight, stemming from lots of harassment for being "weak." "If we could catch in the act of being scandalous or something, we could use that to our advantage. I do have a video camera, and a pretty decent one at that."
"Hmm… maybe you're on to something," Delta mused. "Not many faeries believed me about Mr. Ferrier when I told them that he kidnapped Ana because she wanders off constantly, but maybe if we trick him into confessing and then recording it… that could work."
"Yeah!" Max pumped his fist in the air, prematurely excited. "I mean, yeah it could work. We might need more than just us though. I doubt that asshole would listen to either of us."
Griff had glanced over towards the satar when he threw his fist into the air. Not wanting to be obvious, he looked back to his phone. "Ya know," The russian accent was thick, and seemed to become thicker with every word he spoke. "ven talking about overthrowing any von, it's best not to do it in public" Griff smirked, but kept his eyes locked onto his phone as he typed away.
Max flushed, embarrassed. He frowned, a bit angry at the boy for pointing it out. “You overthrow a lot of people then?” He asked sarcastically.
"This is a mostly mythical creature cafe," Delta said loftily. "I doubt that a lot of MC's would willingly work for that species-ist asshole."
He chuckled lightly at Max's sarcasm "I'ts been a minute since i've last done it" Griff shot him a dazzling white smile before turning his attention to Delta. "Even so, vord travels faster than light in many situations." He looked back down at his phone when it pinged, he laughed briefly, then tapped away. Once he finished, he looked back up at the two with curiosity in his bright blue eyes. "So, since you two arent feeling the need to keep it a secret, vats the scoop?"
Max frowned at the boy, not sure how to feel about him. He glanced at Delta before talking. His big mouth could be a problem sometimes. “Well, there’s this jerk named Mr.Ferrier kidnapped one of Delta’s friends because she didn’t want to ‘perform’ on his stupid pleasure cruise,” Max said, intensity in his eyes. “We’re trying to make him pay, and obviously to get Delta’s friend back!” Then he realized he just told this stranger everything. He looked at Delta sheepishly.
"You should probably talk quieter." Said a voice from behind them, the voice was melodious and had hints of European ancestry.
“Shit,” said Max, only slighter quieter. He naturally had a loud voice and loved to talk, so it was a bit of an issue when discussing sensitive things. He wished he could just melt into the floor.
"Probably a bit quieter." The voice says, turning out to be a dark haired man in an oversized black hoodie.
Delta glared at him, giving him a small spritz with her spray bottle. (she carries around one of those whenever there's not enough humidity in the air or she gets stressed- kind of like an inhaler) "Thanks, Max. Great job at keeping secrets."
Max groaned and put his head on the table, his arms reaching out in front of him. “Sorry…”
"So why exactly are you trying to do?" he asks quietly, fidgeting with a bulky bracelet on his wrist.
From his position with his head on the table, Max replied, “You didn’t hear me say it the first two times?” He sighed. He didn’t say that to be rude, merely because he felt bad and didn’t want to repeat Delta’s story to yet another stranger.
"I did not." the soft spoken stranger replied, hoping he could help and wasn't needed for another mission soon.
Max sighed, picking his head up from the table. Delta was already angry at him, he was sure, besides this guy seemed decent. He retold the man what he had told Griff.
"Sounds like a sound enough reason. I'm Avery Calore." he says introducing himself Wow, i look extremely mundane today. Probably should be in my reaper attire… he thought to himself,
“Max Jacobs,” he replied heartily. “So you’ll help us?” He looked at Delta, as if to say “I got help so I’m not so annoying after all!”.
"Sure, what is your plan?" he asked, his head tilting.
“We’re working on that,” Max admitted. “But something along the lines of getting him to do something scandalous or catching him in the act and then filming it! I have a really nice camera.” Max made sure not to talk quiiite so loud this time.
"I can help with the sneaking part." He says curtly, hoping he could make new friends. Mostly so Angel would quit bothering him.
