Nathaniel huffed. "You'll see."

Lucille nearly cut her finger.

Lucille felt a terrible feeling at her chest, but she ignored it.

Tyson grunted. A sharp wringing filled his ears. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?"

Lucille turned around sharply, a scalpel in her hand from pure coincidence.

Nathaniel looked up. "He's hallucinating."

“And why would he be hallucinating?” Lucille asked sweetly, gripping the scalpel tighter.

Nathaniel blinked. "Because he's losing a ton of blood."

“He’s lost less than a liter of blood, there are no hallucinations when losing less than a liter of blood. I am a human, not an idiot.” Lucille glared.

Nathaniel's facade of false confidence slipped for a moment. He cleared his throat. "I gave him a numbing shot. He's just having a bad reaction."
