Halo rushes after her and gently picks her up bridal style. He says nothing.
she stopped its not safe anywhere she yelled tears started falling from her face
Halo wipes away her tears. "We will be safe. I promise…"

He smiles, "Don't be like that. It only brings more pain…" he grimaces, his back stinging.

Raven almost breaks at the moment that Madison says those words. It brings back memories. Unpleasant ones. She persists and ignores the clump in her throat and her eyes glistening with tears that threaten to fall.
Halo stumbles, leaning against a tree. His breathing comes out in gasps.

Raven looks back and sees Halo looking unsteady

"Halo, are you okay?"

Raven looks beside him where Maddie just falls to the ground

"I knew this was going to happen" Raven says to no one in particular
Halo gently pick Maddie up despite his pain. "We need to get to the hospital." he mutters.

"Halo, stay in there for me I'll be right back" Raven says while running to a nearby car. She breaks the window and gets in while manipulating with the engine so she can start it without the keys. She speed to the tree where Halo is resting.
"Here goes nothing"
Raven lifts Maddie onto her shoulder and puts her in the backseat of the car. She then has barely enough strength to pull Halo over her shoulder to put him in the front seat.

"Siri, where is the nearest hospital"
"3 hours away."
"Sh**" Raven curses. She is breaking so many laws at the moment but she doesn't care. She needs to save her friends.
Halo looks at her, "Do what you need to do." He says softly, glancing back at Maddie. "The law can understand."

"Halo take care of her we can't loose her. Do you have enough strength to go in the back with her?"

Raven speeds of and out of the neighborhood, still having a feeling in the back of her head that they were being followed.
Halo nods, "Yeah. I can stay awake for a little while… Just drive like our lives depend on it." He says softly.

Raven makes a sharp turn onto the highway. What town doesn't have a nearby hospital? Raven thinks to herself. This really is a series of unfortunate events. She speeds through the highway and they're more than halfway to the hospital until she hears sirens
Halo is getting treated for the very deep gash in his back. He winces in pain as the doctors look at his back.
