Jake got in after her. He planned on just being her moral support while she talked with her family but this was more of an adventure anyways.

Matt jumped in the truck, turning the ignition and taking off down the street. After a moment he looked over at the other three. "….Well, that one was certainly close. Bethany, you really need some serious help. Oh hey Hudson. How's it been?" He asked.
Jake smiled, he was going to correct him by saying that people don't call him that anymore but what did it matter? "Hey, it's been alright,"
Matt nodded. "Good, good. Sorry about our parents. Or our dad, I guess. Things have been…..well, not the greatest."
"You can say that again." Bethany muttered.
Jake nodded, "I understand that," he didn't exactly have a class A family either.
Bethany sighed. "Malia, you okay?" Malia, Bethany's little sister, nodded. "Yup! Why are we going to Elizabeth's house?" She asked in a tiny adorable voice. Matt and Bethany exchanged a silent look.
"To visit," He mumbled suggestively.
Bethany nodded. "Yeah…..mummy and daddy are busy Bubba, so we're going to go hang out with Lizbeth, kay?"
Malia nodded and bounced happily in her seat. "I wanna see Cooper!" Matt laughed.
"You and your puppies…." He trailed off. Bethany looked over at Jake and silently thanked him.
(Ha! Cooper.)
Jake smiled and nodded, glad to help.
(Yes yes ik.)
Matt pulled up at Elizabeth's house. "So if you guys were going to study, just go to your room here and…..yeah. I've gotta go, Isabel's waiting for me." He said as they got out. Bethany nodded. "Go be with your fiance Matt. See you later." She called as he drove off.
(wait… You know? What do you know?)
"See you later," He said quietly, almost shyly.

Bethany motioned for Jake to follow her up the stairs. Malia had already disappeared inside.

Jake followed the same way he had done all night, he was unsure of what had happened but meh.

Bethany lead Jake into her room and shut the door. "Okay……so maybe I can explain what happened and stuff now….."

"That would be nice," Jake laughed.
Bethany nodded, sitting down on her bed. The room was mostly several shades of blue, with pops of white here and there. Her walls were covered with pictures and sticky notes and several other things. Bethany sighed. "Things got…..weird, after you left." She started.
"Weird," Jake looked around as he talked, "Weird how?"
"Weird as in Dad lost his job, then started….drinking. And now he's just…..like that. My mom isn't much better though because she just agrees with my dad and so….yeah….."
"O-Oh," Jake nodded, "I'm sorry,"
"It's okay. It's not your fault." Bethany finally replied.

"I'm still sorry you had to go through it,"
Bethany nodded, not knowing exactly what to say. She cleared her throat. "So, should we study?" She asked.
"Sure," He smiled and looked around, standing awkwardly in the center of the room.
Bethany motioned for Jake to sit on her bed with her as she pulled out her books.
Jake let out a sigh of relief and sat with her on the bed, pulling her legs up on the bed.
Bethany smiled and flipped through her book. "Hm…."
Jake glanced around the room one more time before settling in on the bed. He pulled out a physics book and flipped it open to a random page, he wasn't much for studying, he usually got decent grades without it. He glanced over the page, losing interest quickly, he thumbed through a few more pages and glanced up at Beth.
Beth looked up at Jake when she felt his eyes on her. "What?"
