One on One! Too late!!!

Zerin giggled, fiddling with his scarf as his heart-rate finally went down.
"That's not very gentlemanly of you, being so selfish." He joked, surprised at his own coolness.

Xavier flashed a smile and rolled his eyes. “I’m just the rudest chap you’ll meet.”

"Maybe, but I like your style." Zerin answered, continuing to eat.

Xavier hummed gently. “Thank you, Zerin. Much appreciated.”

"That doesn't sound like something a rude person would say." Zerin said, somehow keeping his cool.

Xavier scoffed. “Oouugh you’ve caught me, Zerin. I’m not rude at all.” He gave a little laugh.

"I can see that." Zerin mused, putting his basket away. "So, um… Hey… Do you, um, want to come to a festival my kindgom is holding right now?" Zerin asked.

Xavier titled his head to gaze thoughtfully at Zerin. “Sure! I’d love to; it sounds lovely.”

"It's a Harvest Celebration!!!" Zerin exclaimed, getting up. "We're gonna have street performers, bards, caterers, cleaners and all that. Masque is optional as well!"

(Masque is a term for a costume dance, like a masquerade, but it's more for networking than celebrating.)

Xavier raised an eyebrow. “A masque? What does a kingdom need of a masque…? It sounds fun, though!”

"Well, we have a Baron from the Northeast coming over!" Zerin said." We need each-other's help so' we send a baron over and got one in return." He explained.

Xavier hummed. “Aaah. Usually when a Kingdom needs a masque it is not good news. Or they’re trying to ride up on another Kingdom. Which…” He simpered. “Nevermind.”

"No, it's none of that… Actually…" Zerin said. "But according to the Council and Advisor, we could use a new trading partner." The smol bean finished.

Xavier grinned a little. “Do you, now? I could make my parents aware of this and attend the masque as a representative? With permission, too.”

"I thought we already were?" Zerin asked. I remember coming to your domain when I was young, for that exact sort of thing…"

Xavier shook his head. “Our Kingdoms are just allies right now.”

"Oh." Zerin said. "We should do that… We're trying to find places with morecoal and steel, and from what I heard about your kingdom, it could use more commodities." He suggested.

Xavier nodded. “We need it desperately. More than what we want to admit. What does your Kingdom need? If I may ask?”

"More coal, a bit of metal such as copper or steel." Zerin repeated, looking Xavier in the eyes.

Xavier gazed back. “We can do that. Our miners just found a big supply of coal…”

"Shall we?" Zerin asked, offering a hand gallantly, and a bit awkwardly as usual. He tilts his head (cutely, like a puppy or kitten).

Xavier packed his basket and grasped Zerin’s hand. “We shall. Let me fetch my horse.”

Zerin ran a hand through his hair.
"So… Meet at my place in an hour?" Zerin asked.

Xavier smiled. “How about right here?”

(Sure. You start?)

(My battery is gonna die. I am somewhere without a charger and I had to pay someone to borrow theirs.)
