Plane Crash RP!
Dara followed suit, locating her purple suitcase and rummaging through it. Glasses! Thank God. Contacts wouldn't hold up in these conditions. She also found water, a change of clothes, and other useful things.
Sighing as she looked at the other items in her bag, Jordan pulled out earbuds (useless), her tablet (more useless), and a laptop (complete and utter useless). She thought back to when she was packing all of this stuff. She was going on a three day vacation to see her aunt, so why would she possibly need so many electronics?
Also, while rummaging through her backpack, she found actual useful items, like snacks, her first aid kit, a refillable water bottle, and (thank god) her sister's bracelet, which wasn't very useful to anyone else, but Jordan always had it with her.
(Anyone on?)
(yeet im on, this rp has been pretty unactive….and i liked this one)
(Hello I am here and I don’t want it to die)
(Well, I'm back.)
(I don't even know what my character should do…)
(i believe the rest of us are rummaging through bags, so Skye could join in by doing that maybe)
(Time for excitement then)
Raising up from her suitcase, Dara glanced back over to Finn. Gauze in hand, she started to head over, but paused and coughed. Ouch. Splatters of blood coated the hand she coughed in. Yikes. Had she pierced a lung with her broken rib? Maybe that's why it was getting harder to breath.
Storm clouds gathered overhead. The sun started to disappear. Did this storm drag their airplane out of the air? Whatever the case, they needed to find shelter, now.
"Guys," Dara called feebly, still clutching her side, "we need to –we need to find someplace safe. It's going to storm!"
(Okay. Sounds good.)
Jordan caught sight of Dara, who was not looking too good. "Oh god, Dara!" She rushed over to her side and offered help.
Dara tried to wave her away. "I'm f-fine –okay, no, I'm not, but we need shelter…" she staggered, lost her balance, and fell. Damn it! She didn't want to draw this much attention to herself. "Sorry," she apologized.
Skye raced over to Dara. "Hey! I found a tent in my bags. I was possibly going to go camping with a friend, and that's obviously not going to happen now, but at least we have some shelter," she said. Noticing Dara was still clutching her side, Skye glared at her. "You are so not okay. Here, c'mon. I'm in school to become a vet, so maybe I can use some of that knowledge to help you."
Dara started to nod and stand up, but a violent coughing fit interrupted her. Wiping blood from her lips, she pushed herself to her feet. "I might have. Broken. A rib." She couldn't breathe. "Let's just. Get. To shelter."
"No," Skye said forcefully. "Sit here. You need serious medical attention. Maybe there's a real doctor here?"
Dara laughed painfully. "I'm the closest to it, probably. Biology/pre med major."
Great, thought Skye. Our only doctor is injured. But what if…
"What if you could walk me through the process?" she suggested. "I mean, being a pre-vet major myself, I might be able to do help you."
"Okay. Okay." Dara nodded, her breathing heavy. "so my lung's probably collapsed on one side, which is why it won't expand fully. If you could somehow create or locate something that could remove the excess air from the area, it'd be a quick fix."
"Got it," Skye said, rummaging around in her bag. She pulled something out and held it up so Dara could see it. "Will this work?"
"Well, yeah." Dara almost laughed again. "I gotta ask. Why are you carrying around a syringe, and how'd you get it through security?"
(Is it too late to join?)
(Anyone can join at any time!)
Skye's mouth opened and closed a few times as she tried to figure out what to say. I feel like a fish, she thought, then stopped opening her mouth.
After clearing her throat, she said, "Well… I, uh, I'm pre-vet, like I said, and… It's not made from metal, it's a highly durable plastic made by someone I know."
Dara had this feeling that there was more to the story than Skye was telling. However, she let it go. It wasn't her business. "Okay, first you need to locate the air pocket the collapsed lung caused. I think it should be around…" wincing, Dara raised her shirt and felt for the broken rib. It was easy enough to find; really, really painful and bruised. Right above it, she felt where the lung had collapsed. "Okay, right around here. Using the first aid kit, disinfect the area and the syringe, and then insert the syringe. Slowly pull the air out."
"Okay, I can do that," said Skye, doing what Dara asked. When she thought she had finished, she looked at Dara for confirmation.

Dara lifted a shoulder in a half shrug. "I can breath better." Sitting up, she pulled down her shirt and sighed. "Thanks." She managed a loose smile. "You kinda saved my life."
Shooting Dara a quick smile, Skye cleaned her instruments and put them away carefully. "It was no problem. I'm just glad I could help." She looked up and studied the area around them. "Now, how about we see if anyone else has found shelter or needs help?"
