“It’s okay,” Celestia smiled. “I had some work I had to take care of, so I was going to Netherland. But my flight got canceled and they suggested I take this one to another one to get where I wanted to go.”
Plane Crash RP!
"The Netherlands? That's pretty far for work. What do you do?" asked Skye curiously.
"Netherland?" Dara repeated. "Cool. What for?"
Celestia paused, biting her lip.
“I’m a writer and a traveler,” she finally spoke after a moment’s silence. “I lived in Netherland for a while with my sister, but I had to come back to get a bunch of important files I left behind.”
(ill be back in an hour or so I gtg)
"Interesting." Dara leaned forward. "What kind of stuff do you write?"
(Okay, see you then!)
(See ya!)
“Anything that comes to mind, really,” Celestia replied. “What about you? What are you studying?” she quickly shifted the topic, feeling a bit nervous talking about herself.
(Ok I'm back I went to my physics class study group and realized I had a lab report due next week I hadn't started so…yeah…I'm late lol)
"Biology premed," she replied in a halting tone. "I just want to be in the lab right now, honestly. I'm researching the effects of gene therapy on mice."
(Ah shoot I forgot to add something)
Fin sat in the far corner of the tent, rummaging through his suitcase. He added to the conversation, “I was going to Cali. I’ve kinda always wanted to go surfing there. In case you were wondering, no, I have absolutely no experience with surfboards.”
“That sounds nice, and a little tough,” Celestia commented before turning her attention to the guy who spoke up right after her.
“Well, that’s interesting,” she said, smiling. “Trying new things is always fun. I’m Celestia, by the way. I don’t think I caught your name?”
“Oh, hi, I’m Fin.” He introduced himself while taking a bite of a granola bar he had found. “Uh, I actually have a lot of food in here.” Fin gestured to the multiple Lunchables, Twinkies, Caprisuns, granola bars and apples in his bag. “Yeah yeah, it’s a little weird that I conveniently have all of these snacks, but hey. I don’t know what California cuisine is like! I always need to be prepared.”
Dara laughed. "Being prepared is good." Her eyes widened at the sight of the caprisuns. "I might just love you. Please say I can have a capri sun."
“Take whatever you want.” Fin replied, grinning. “I’ve got enough to last us a few days at most.”
Dara greedily snatched up a capri sun, slamming the straw in and taking a long draught. With a goofy expression, she exhaled, "Ahh…tastes like my childhood."
“I would just like to have an apple,” Celestia said a bit nervously, but felt comfortable once Dara took a caprisun. It wasn’t that she was suspicious; Celestia was just naturally shy. She dreaded the storm that was about to approach, so she felt edgier than she normally felt around strangers.
Fin scratched his head. “We should probably get to sleep, then investigate the island in the morning.” He suggested. “Hopefully this storm will pass by and the weather will clear up.
"I concur," Dara agreed. "I'm dead tired. If the storm clears up, we can build a fire to signal passing planes or boats tomorrow."
"Can I have a granola bar? And, yes. We should definitely go to sleep. Sleep would be necessary to explore tomorrow, don't you think?" Skye questioned.
Fin pushed the food to the middle of the tent. “Take whatever you need.”
Skye flashed Fin a quick smile before grabbing a bar and a Caprisun. "Thanks."
Celestia quietly munched on her apple, lost in thought. This storm was going to be a terrifying one. Celestia didn’t even have anything to distract her with this time. Once everyone finished eating and got comfortable enough to sleep, Celestia closed her eyes and tried to block out the sounds of the rain drops falling. She hoped it wouldn’t be a thunderstorm, otherwise she didn’t know how she was going to survive.
Dara wasn't comfortable. She hated sleeping in a room with someone else –much less a tent. With three other people. She curled up tight as though she would disappear. She fiddled with the bracelet hanging around her wrist and wished that she was home as she drifted off into a restless sleep.
Skye huddled in a corner of the tent, attempting to sleep. Memories passed through her mind of when the plane was just about to crash, keeping her awake.
The plane diving down quickly. People screaming around her. Skye, herself, screaming, crying, not knowing what to do.
She whimpered, and a tear rolled down her cheek.
When it began to rain, the sound of raindrops beating steadily down on the tent finally lulled her to sleep.
Jordan watched as the rain splattered off the leaves of the trees surrounding her. Of course, a thunderstorm. She had gotten herself lost on a strange island, and what happens next? A freaking thunderstorm. Just great.
Trying to trace back her steps to where the plane was, she tripped over a branch she didn't see in the darkness and skidded her knee. Letting out a sharp yelp, she calmed herself down and tried to find the stream she had seen earlier. That would lead her back to the plane, right?
Everyone else had fallen asleep, but Celestia couldn’t bring herself to fall asleep. When the raindrops began to fall down faster, she squeezed her eyes shut and braced herself. Her chest felt heavy and it got harder to breathe.
It’s okay, Celestia told herself. It might not be a thunderstorm. Calm yourself.
But even as minutes ticked by, Celestia couldn’t fall into the safe confinement of slumber.
When a flash of lightning broke out into the sky, Celestia had to slap her mouth shut to keep herself from screaming and waking everyone up. So she just sat there, unable to move her legs, tears streaming down her cheeks as it started to thunder loudly.
The Fin abruptly sat up and cocked his head. He had heard a voice somewhere from outside. Turning to rest of the people in the tent, he asked, “Did anyone else hear that? I swear there was a voice out there.” When no one replied, Fin just assumed they were all asleep. He cautiously stepped out of the tent in search of the noise.
(So right now we have Dara, Fin, Cels, Jordan, and Skye, right? At the beginning we had Santiago, and Luna was there in the middle for a little bit.)
When Fin woke up, Celestia presses her hand tighter against her mouth and sat still, hoping he wouldn’t notice. When he didn’t, and instead went outside, she breathed a sigh of relief. When another thunder struck, however, she flinched, biting her hand to keep in her scream.
It’s just thunder, you idiot, she whimpered to herself. Stop crying like a baby.
(So right now we have Dara, Fin, Cels, Jordan, and Skye, right? At the beginning we had Santiago, and Luna was there in the middle for a little bit.)
(I think so, yes.)
(I’m wondering why I had to have Celestia get hurt.)
