Aspen widely circled the group and approached his mother from the side. "Hey, mom? How are things going at home?" I am so sorry! he mouthed to Jay.

"Pretty good, now that you're gone. We moved, you know."

(I'm stuck here at school probably until like 5:00)

Relieved of the mother for a moment, Jay gasped, his heart exploding in his chest. That was probably the hardest thing he'd ever done in his life. Taking a moment to breathe, he stood next to the unfamiliar patron and rubbed his eyes tiredly.

(I work overnights so I'll be going to bed in like half an hour.)

Ember glanced up at the guy, sipping his coffee quietly and trying not to be noticed. His coffee was slightly more bitter than he was used to, since he always loaded every drink he had with sugar. He tried not to make a face so he wouldn't look rude, but his brow furrowed slightly. "I need to stop overloading things with sugar," he muttered to himself.

"Too bitter? I'll trade ya," He slipped behind the counter and steamed some milk, making instead of a coffee, a latte for the fellow, adding just a touch less flavor than a normal one. "This'll get you started." He handed it to him, pulling the other one from his hand-paws and exchanging the lid.

Ember smiled shyly, gladly taking the latte. "Thank you." He took a sip, and found that he enjoyed the taste. "How is your day going?" He decided to ask randomly, and a bit awkwardly. His ears flattened in embarrassment, fearing that the question might have been out of place.

Jay's eyes flashed between this guy and the scene he'd just left, "Apparently it's full of lying and manipulating today," he shook his head, "I'm Jay, and you are? Haven't seen you around before?"

"I'm Ember, I just moved here" he replied. "I'm sorry about your day, manipulation is… bad…" he cringed at himself.

(I'm at home LMAO'ing)

"Alrighty, bye mom."
Aspen sighed with relief as his mother left en route to some tropical vacation and turned hesitently to his friends. "Umm… I don't know where to begin…"

"Hm?" Ember said, looking up at him. "You're Aspen, right?"

"Y-yes? I think. Too much is happening." He laughed and blew his hair out of his eyes.

Ember laughed and leaned back. "I know the feeling. Things are pretty chaotic right now."

"Yeah, my bad…"

He waved a hand dismissively. "It's all good. I mean, at least you get to relax now." Ember found that he felt surprisingly comfortable.

"For real, though!" Aspen ranted, feeling completely at ease with everyone present. "God, they'll never understand…"

"Understand what?" Ember asked curiously. He then realized that it might've been a personal question to ask. "I-I mean, if you're okay with telling me. It's cool if you don't want to talk about it though."

Aspen laughed a little to himself before replying with hake enthusiasm. "I'm…. GAYYY!!!"

Ember choked on his coffee a little bit. That's definitely not something he heard very often where he came from. "You're gay?" He repeated, before pausing. "Me too? I think?"

Oyoyo thought she noticed Aspen's mom leaving the coffee shop from her house across the street. She thought the drama must be over, since Sarah had left. Just to be sure, she decided to give Aspen a call. She wondered what she would say when he got on the phone. She just wanted to settle all the drama.

"Cool!" Aspen started, only to be interrupted by his phone. "Um… hold on. Hello?"
