He stayed silent for a while, lips pressed against her hand, eyes cast away. "I'm sorry," he whispered
¨For what?¨ she asked.
"for leaving you." He said, not being able to look up at her
¨I´m Used to it My Mother left me My Father My Brother and. . . You No One sticks around for very long¨ she said.
He shook his head and shut his eyes "I shouldn't have left."
¨And Then You Drove Me away Like I was Worthless¨ she said.
He nodded "only because I thought it'd keep you safe."
¨You thought wrong:: she said.
"you could've moved on," he said desperately
¨I´ve tried I can´t just get over you ¨ she said.
He stayed silent for a while, not knowing what to say. "I'm not going anywhere," he whispered
¨You´ve said that before¨ she said.
"and I'll say it over and over until it's true."
¨How long will that be?¨ she asked.
"just once more. I'm never leaving you Hatley," he kissed her hand, saying the words slowly
¨Can you go get me some juice from the cafe¨ she said.
He breathed a sigh " I just promised I wouldn't leave you." He teased "which one, I think they have a few."
¨Apple,Please¨ she said.
He nodded and stood "I'll be back with your juice." He kissed her knuckles before walking out the door to find the cafeteria
she nodded, closing her eyes trying to get some rest.
Chance had found the juice in the cafeteria a few hallways away and came back shortly along with some food. He set it aside and decided to let Harley rest a bit. He curled up on one of the chairs and drifted off to sleep
Harley turned in her sleep breathing roughly.
Chance awoke a few hours later and found Harley struggling in her sleep. He sat on the edge of her bed and started humming the song he'd been practicing on the piano while stroking her brow with a gentle hand
She awoke and grabbed his wraist tightly thinking it was someone else.
Chance glanced up in surprise and gently moved his hand to her cheek "hey, look who's awake."
" Hey" she mumbled sleepily letting go of his wrist
" Are you going to leave me again when I get out of the Hospital?" She asked
He tilted his head “I don’t plan to, no. Unless you want me to.”
