Damian paled even further, "Why…."

she kissed his cheek "because I love you".

Damian could almost feel his heart tearing itself apart, as if someone was twisting a knife inside of him. It took all his willpower to keep his knees from buckling, and he couldn't say anything because his voice had stopped working.

she smiled sadly as she started to walk to Alec.

Damian wanted to say something to make her star but he couldn't move, his body was frozen, and his voice silent.

Briar glared at Alec "Fiiiiiiiine" he groaned and vanished.

Damian blinked as he left, still silent as he watched Briar.

briar ran back to him hugging him.

Damian blinked in surprise but quickly wrapped his arms around her, hugging her as if she'd turn to shadows at any moment.

"I',m sorry" she cried.

"You're not actually going with him are you….." he asked, his voice barely audible. "I can fight for myself you know… alongside you even…"

"Damian I'm willing to die for you" she said.

"Then why go with him??" asked Damian, "You know I feel the same about you!"

"because he would've left you alone".

"I doubt it" said Damian, "Those types don't give up easily.."

"he does when he gets what he wants".

"He wants you" said Damian, unable to keep the disgust out of his voice. "He won;t stop until he knows he has all of you, and he knows I have your love…."

Briar smiled gently "True".

"Please… don't go.." he said, pulling away to look her in the eyes, unable to hide his sudden fear of losing her.

she nodded. "I'll stay with you" she said.

Damian almost melted in relief, hugging her tightly.

she barried her head in his chest.

Damian wished they could stay like that forever, but, "Briar… is Alec coming back anytime soon?"

"I don't know" she said.

"When he does we have to be prepared to fight." Said Damian, "I doubt he's gonna let you go that easily."

She sighed.

"If he doesn't lay off… then I have friends who would help us out." He said, trying to sound more confident then he was.

she hugged him and nodded.

"You gonna be ok?" He asked.

she nodded "yeah".
