Romantic/Realistic Fiction Roleplay, anyone?

"What?" Tay stared at Vera, eyes wide.

“Someone saw at the arcade.”, she whispered frantically. “I’m supposed to stay away from you.”

Tay clasped his hands together, staring at Vera, confused, "What?"

Vera shook her head again, backing away slightly. “I— I’m sorry.” She swam over to Loilai and Kendra, going underwater to hide the tears in her eyes.

Loilai and Kendra looked at Vera, confused, "Hey, what's up?"

“Nothing. Any water guns?”

"Felix and Kame have them." Loilai pointed at them on the other side of the pool, spraying Ault and Audun at random times.

Vera laughed, but it was fake. She swam over to them. “Hey, can I borrow one of those?”

Felix nodded, "Sure, Vera."

She took it, and sprayed him straight in the face, laughing. “That’s for pulling me into the pool.”

"Hey!" Felix sprayed back, "That's for spraying me just now!"

Vera ducked beneath the water to avoid being sprayed again, resurfacing to splash him as hard as she possibly could.

"Gah!" Felix splashed back, "I'm so gonna get you back for this!"

Vera laughed, but there was no real happiness in it.

Loilai saw this, "Hey Vera? Come over here!"

"Hmm?" Vera turned around and swam to her.

"Do you want to go get some cheetos?"

Vera shrugged, sensing there was more. "Sure. How come?"

Loilai narrowed her eyes, but still smiled, "We need to talk."

Wait what? First Bridge, now Loilai? How– She cut the thought off, smiling fakely. "Okay."

Loilai wrapped a towel around herself and handed one to Vera, then headed towards the car.

Vera followed, trying frantically to plan out what she was going to say. She got into shotgun, silent.

"So," Loilai tapped her fingers on the drivers' wheel, "what's going on between you and Bridge?"

Vera knew she was a terrible actor, but she tried anyways. "Nothing."

"Riiiiiight."

Vera looked away. “Nothing important.” Loilai could easily tell that this was a lie.

Loilai leaned in, narrowing her eyes even more, "Did Bridge threaten you?"

Vera’s heart stopped for a moment. “Why would she do that?”

"She's territorial and a huge lizard-turd brain. She'll treat you like dog crap if you don't resist her."
