James walked down the hallway, he went on a walk to clear his head.

Kendra walks down the hallway, a starbucks frappicino half drank in her hand as she fumbled for her keys. she was coming home after a long day of answering dumb questions at work, tired no doubt.

James was in a daze, he ran into Kendra, "I am sorry,"

"You're totally fine. Could have been worse" she said, looking up from her key ring.

He nodded but didn't make eye contact with her, he usually didn't. "Are you new? I have not seen you before,"

"Fairly yes, just moved in two days ago. still trying to get settled and still takes me a minute to find the right keys" she said, looking off into the distance since he didnt want to make eye contact. she was okay with that of course though, eye contact made her feel vulnerable with new people.

"My name is James," He smiled into the distance but it was directed to her.

"Im Kendra. Its nice to meet you" She smiled back

"Yes it is nice to meet you too," He finally looked at her, he felt better knowing her name. "Do you want donuts?"

"Donuts? How did you know i was hungry?' she said with a soft laughing

He smiled, he wasn't psychic but he assumed she was being metaphorical. "I have extra from breakfast if you want to come upstairs for them."

"Sure" she said, she was cautious to go places with people shed just met. but she didnt think she was in any danger.

He nodded and led her up the stairs. He used a cloth from his back pocket to open the door, as always, he didn't like germs. He grabbed the box of donuts and put them on the table for her.

"Thank you" she said, after being offered the donuts. "Anywhere particular you'd like me to sit?" she didnt want to be rude

"The table would be good," he pointed to the dining table as he also sat down.

"Okay" she sat at the table, and took a donut.

"I fixed the pipes," He said looking to the usually broken sink, "Pipes are like veins,"
