"You can go… But please. Don't leave the castle." She begged him. I can't lose you. I can't. Not again.
RP? One on One
Jair hesitated, then nodded. "Fine." He said softly. He closed his eyes for a moment. Trapped in four walls and a roof not allowed to leave I can't leave I can't leave no control no choice no no no no no- he took a deep breath, cutting off his thoughts.
"Thank you," Kana sighed with relief and let go of his arm. "Really. Thank you." She smiled weakly. Thank goodness. I wouldn't be able to bear it if he left. Again.
He forced a nod, trying to act normal. Stop panicking you aren't trapped. You're fine you're fine you're fine just calm down and everything will be okay. "You're welcome."
Kana smiled and stepped out of his way, allowing him to leave the room if he wanted to.
He left the room. Calm down calm down calm down everything is fine, you're okay, its fine, you're fine. He told himself, over and over and over.
I hope he'll be okay…. Kana looked over at Aydan and chuckled nervously. "What a night, huh?"
Aydan nodded slowly. "Yes…" He stood. "Kana, why didn't you tell me?" He asked.
Ah, damn. She looked up at the ceiling. "Well, I didn't want to place any burdens on you." Kana laughed to herself. "Besides, it's nothing too serious." Lying again. To your own fiance, too. How pathetic.
"Are we talking about two different things? Kana, starving yourself is serious." Aydan replied.
Kana sighed. "I know. But, still, I-" She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall. "I couldn't bring myself to do it."
Aydan sighed. "Still. Kana…I don't want you to die."
She let out a quiet, but harsh chuckle. "Why not? If I die, you still become King. And you get to marry whoever you want." Kana looked down at the ground and sighed. Everything would be better that way, wouldn't it?
Aydan stood, and walked over to her. "Well…maybe I don't want to marry someone else." He replied slowly. "Maybe I want to marry you. Did you ever think about that?"
Kana blinked at him. "Wh- what?" Me? But I thought- She shook her head, trying to process what he said. Does he like me??
He dragged a hand down his face. "Never mind." He muttered, grabbing his book. "I'll be in the library if you need me." He said, not looking at her as he headed for the door.
Kana was going to stop him, but thought better of it. Did…did I just push away Aydan too? He's just worried about me. Fuck, they're both worried about me! And I… her thoughts trailed off as she watched Aydan leave. You're the worst. You're toxic. Disgusting. No one really cares about you, you know that? She started to slowly trudge towards her room.
Aydan went to the library, sighing. Why did I say that? Why? Obviously she doesn't feel the same way, she just picked you because you were convenient.
Jair was reading his book again, though he was having a hard time actually focusing on the story.
Kana stopped by the library to pick up a book. That way, if I can't sleep, then I can just read. And not about war and PTSD. She had already read most of the books, however. She skimmed the library, looking for things she hadn't read yet. Kana was carrying a few books when she came across Aydan. "Oh… hey," she spoke softly, like her voice was about to break.
Aydan looked up. "Hey, Kana." He greeted, giving her a small smile. "Do you need something?"
Yes. I need to sleep. I need to see how Jair is doing. And I need to know your true feelings towards me. Kana smiled back at him. "I was just trying to find books that I haven't read yet…" Should I ask? Would it make things weird?
Aydan stood up, pulling out a few from the shelves. "I'm assuming you want fiction." He said. "Here's four that I really enjoyed." He held them out to her with a smile.
He knows my taste in books. "Thank you," she smiled back at him, grateful. Kana took the books, holding them close to her chest. "Um…" She looked at the floor. Should I ask him? Should I leave? What do I do-
Aydan gave a small smile. "You're welcome." He replied, leaning against the bookshelf slightly. Here, again, the difference between him and Jair was obvious. Jair was taller, and broader shouldered, whereas Aydan was slim.
"Aydan, if I ask you something will you tell me the truth?" She suddenly spoke, her head snapping up to look at him
Aydan nodded. "To the best of my abilities, yes." He replied, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. "What is it?"
Kana paused. "Um, you said that you wanted to marry me." Of all people, me. Jesus, this guy has no idea what I'm actually like if he means it. "D-did you mean that?" She asked, a slight blush appearing on her face.
Aydan hesitated. "Well…I…" he hesitated. "Does it matter? You have Jair, despite the fact that you two seem to be having…issues." he shrugged slightly.
Kana sighed and started to leave "Nevermind," she mumbled, barely audible. This was a mistake. You should've just kept your mouth shut.
"No, Kana, I…" Aydan sighed. "Remember when I said that I could grow to care for you?" He asked. "I…" Damn. I don't know what to say.
