“What I mean to say is that I think Quicy likes you as a companion,” James continued trying to get his point across without knowing the words to do so.
Running Scared
" I know " she sighed starting to let go of him
James had to take a moment before he let go of her as well, "And I enjoy your company as well."
She smiled as best as she can and held onto his wrist " me too''
"You're being honest about this?" James asked her carefully.
" of course I am" she promised looking up at him
James gave her a little smile, "I'm… Glad."
Rebecca had to bite her lip to keep from smiling as a small blush came to her cheeks she looked down at her feet
James tilted his head as he looked at her with a curious look, "Something wrong?"
She shook her head " No nothing's Wrong" she said slowly looking back up at him
"Okay," James replied still looking at her, "So, um, anything you would like to talk about?"
" no you don't have to stay I appreciate you coming to see me" she said
"And if I want to stay?" James asked her.
" Then stay" she said " I like when your here with me"
"I, okay," James didn't know how to respond to that.
She let go of his wrist and walked over to sit against her tree
James followed after her and looked at her, "How are you feeling?"
" I'm okay I'm still coughing up blood but I'm okay" she said
"No ache in your fangs?" James asked.
She shook her head " no pain" she said
"No strange urges?" James asked her.
She shook her head " no " she said honestly
"That's good," James gave a little nod before repeating himself, "That's good."
She sighed closing her eyes she leaned Back against the bark of the tree
James looked at her and then around the clearing, "Does this place feel like home?"
She shook her head " my homes gone James" she said opening her eyes to look at him
"I'm sorry about that," James replied to her, "But I'm sure you'll find one."
She sighed once more, " I don't think so I don't have any family anymore just my brother but he hates me there's no one who loves me and even if they did they won't anymore"
"A home is more than a family," James told her gently, "As long as you feel safe and comfortable somewhere then that's your home."
" I don't feel safe or comfortable anywhere" she said
