Fleur tilted his chin so he was looking back at her. "Why won't you trust her?"

Cooper didn't really trust anyone unless he had good reason to, Fleur had proven to earn his trust and he could revoke that trust at any point but she should consider herself special to have such a rare thing as his trust in the first place. "She came from the same place that would give anything to have me and my brothers locked up, tortured or killed. She could easily be faking to trick me and I don't trust people," He'd been hurt too many times.

Lina lowered her eyes. "Il a raison. Cet endroit était un cauchemar. Au moment où je suis arrivé, je voulais seulement partir. S'il te plaît, dites-lui que je ne veux jamais que quiconque souffre de la même manière que les gens d'ici ont fait de même. Je ne voudrais jamais faire de mal à personne. S'il te plaît, dites-lui qu'il n'y a pas grand chose que je ne ferais pas pour gagner sa confiance."

Fleur looked at Lina for a long moment, then back to Cooper. "She says that she only ever wanted to leave that place. She said… She said that she doesn't want anyone to suffer like that again. She also says that she never wanted to hurt anyone. She says that there's not much she wouldn't do to earn your trust."

"And I don't trust her. Those are words, anyone could lie and it's nothing personal I just don't trust that easily."

Lillian looked at the board before making a move. Her mind clouded with doubts, "No it's yours."

"When?" This was a pointless fight, it was his turn.
