He pecked her lips and laced their fingers together as they walked in the house.

Lillian felt the ghost of a smile on her lips. A reminder of how the day began, and it seemed to be ending. She glanced around warily, worried about who might be watching.

He pulled her up the stairs and fell onto the bed, “Let’s just chill, we have nowhere to be, no obligations and it’s just us,”

“What about Cooper?” Lillian asked hesitantly. She had shut the door behind them and moved towards the bed sitting on the edge.

“Coop will be in the hospital for awhile. Suicide hole is AT LEAST 72 hours. He needs his rest anyways,”

Lillian nodded slowly. She was safe, this was safe, “Will you want to go back anytime soon? To visit him?”

Darren laid his head back on the pillow and stuck out his arms for her to come lay with him. “Probably,”

"To be honest, I'm not completely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing." She muttered.

“It seems like you think of it as a bad thing,”

"It seemed like it at the time. I think it's a bit of both."

“Not until you’re ready,”

"It seemed like it at the time. I think it's a bit of both."

“Then that’s what I’m apologizing for,”

"You don't have to apologize." She was really starting to wish it wasn't just the two of them, she was starting to get anxiety.

His eyes closed and he mumbled something quietly but otherwise went to sleep relatively quickly. He held Belles hand likes it was the only thing that was keeping him tethered to the Earth.

Lillian smiled slightly as she laid down next to him. She was safe, he was safe, this was safe, “Not anytime soon?”

“Not until you’re ready,”

“Okay,” Lillian was safe. She wasn’t going to get hurt. She moved closer to Darren resting her head on his chest.

Darren smiled a little, he knew he should be with his brother but not being i the hospital was probably best for Darren’s anxiety right now.

Lillian let her eyes shut. Guilt swept through her, Darren should be with his brother. Or at least nearby, instead he was here with Lillian. She’s a ‘big’ girl now, she shouldn’t have to rely on Darren.

He readjusted their hands a few times and closed his eyes.

Lillian softly murmured, “Sorry.” As she felt her mind start slipping way to sleep.

“It’s fine,” he whispered.

There was no response as Lillian had given way to sleep. Her body was calm, peaceful for now.

She smiled a little and relaxed. At least now she didn't have to talk.

There was no response as Lillian had given way to sleep. Her body was calm, peaceful for now.

Darren yawned and soon after fell asleep with her.

"Not as bad as I thought it would be. But better now that you're here." She smiled a little.
