Lillian turned her head and kissed Darren on the forehead.

“When we graduate, I’m not going to leave you. I won’t leave you.” Darren looked at her, tears glistening off the green in his eyes, “ I need you to know that.”

Lillian nodded, "I know. I know Darren."

There was a loud clap of thunder and Lloyd jumped up. He hurriedly put the laptop on the couch and tried to run, but slipped on the hardwood. He slammed his head into the corner of the side table and lay on the ground, his ears ringing loudly and painfully. When he put his hand to his head, it came away bloody. Unfortunately, this was the same side that had cracked the week before and the crack greatly expanded and spread, making his migraine grow several times worse.
