Lillian gave him one final kiss, "We need to though."

"Yeah… heh heh…" Sammy said.

Darren nodded and rolled off Lillian offering a hand to help her up.

(I’ll be on and off. Gotta get some lunch.)

Lillian took the hand and stood up. She looked at Darren's shaved head, "To be honest you look good with that cut."

Darren laughed, “Well thanks.” They both got in the car and went to school.

Lillian smiled, "No problem. I hate school, but I have your back today."

“I don’t want to tell anyone yet.” Darren sighed “I don’t need them looking at me any differently.”

Lillian nodded, "I understand that. But if anyone starts giving you crap, just tell me."

Darren smiled at Lillian, happy she was there for him. They arrived at the school and went inside.

Lillian looked at the school. She puffed out her chest, today she was the protector.

Darren laughed and followed Lillian.

Lillian smiled as she walked into first period.

Darren sat down next to Lillian ignoring the looks he was getting from the other kids in the students.

Lillian grabbed his hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

Darren took a deep breath and smiled at her. Today might be alright.

Lillian smiled back. She wasn't going to let him get worried over nothing.

The teacher entered and the room quieted. “Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new student. Would you like to introduce yourself?”

Lillian perked up and paid attention. Please don't be super preppy.
