"Do you have any kind of communication with-uh- heaven?" Darren felt ridiculous.

"Not at the moment. As they believe me to be dead, attempting contact would result in my death most likely. They would probably send someone to kill me, believing me to be an impostor."

"Fun." Darren laughed sarcastically. "Why doesn't God answer you when you pray and stuff? No matter how much you want something to happen praying never seems to help."

"There are three main answers God gives to prayers: Yes, No, and Wait. When He says yes, whatever it is will most likely happen immediately. If no, it wont happen and something else according to His plan will. And with wait, your answer does not come immediately. That is the answer that causes doubt, for people believe God has forgotten them. However, he is actually just waiting for the right time."

"So my prayers are all waits?" Lillian joked.

"Makes sense I guess." Darren looked much calmer than he was before.

"Perhaps, it depends what you're asking. Some things require time."

"And somethings are taken from you that you can never get back."

"And sometimes things will just not stop."

"Some things help you grow, and things that are taken are likely either returning or shouldn't be there."

Darren laughed loudly

Lillian quietly chuckled.

"What? Have I said something funny?" Lloyd looked between Darren and Lillian, seeming very confused.

"Hopeless," Darren repeated. Just then Darren's phone was ringing.
Darren ignored the call and put his phone on vibrate.

"Er, do you have any other questions?"

"So am I going to Hell?" Lillian asked, "Because I stopped believing a long time ago. No offense meant of course."

"If you chose to believe again then no…."

"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life." Darren quoted.

"My mom was a Christian, I went to church every Sunday." Darren added.

Lillian looked at Darren, "The day I start to believe again is the day they die or leave my life for good."
