"Well," Gaia started. "Now that i have someone's attention, i killed the demon."

Ellis rolled his eyes. "I am. But we're friends, so we don't have to be formal."

@Lenered

"That was very brave, Gaia. I commend you on your courage." Mari ignored what Ellis had said. Friends? We can't be friends. I'm a damn mechanic.

"I was more concerned about everyone dying," She turned to Ellis. "Eat salt next time a demon shows up, keep some packets in your pockets or somethin, imma clean up demon remains." She walked out the door, finding a broom to clean up.

"I do keep salt in my pockets." Ellis huffed.

@Lenered

(She's never had friends before :P)

@Lenered

"Good for you." Mariko let go of Ellis' hand, noticing that her hand had become really sweaty.

Gaia poked her head back in the door. "Really? They would've been useful earlier." She walked down the hallway and it struck her. Shit! I forgot Ellen! She rushed to where Ellen was and pulled the knocked out12-year-old onto her back with alot of struggling.
She pushed the door of Ellis' room open again. "Sorry to ruin your moment but the preteen needs a better place to sleep than on the floor."

"Right I'll move." He started to sit up.

Her face went blank. "Doing that will only make you bleed more, there's enough room for her tiny body. Don't move." She placed Ellen on the foot of the bed, where she surprisingly fit.

@Lenered

"And I will leave. Bye Captain. Bye Gaia. See you probably in a few years, depending on how often I'll come out of my nest." Mariko waved and started to leave the room.

Ellis rolled his eyes and got to his feet. "You're not going anywhere."

"Oh shit's about to go doooown." Gaia muttered, totally shipping this.

She snapped out of it. "You're only going to bleed out more!"

@Lenered

She threw out her arms. "Ellis, stay in bed!" Worry pounded at her chest. "You're hurt."

"I'm fine. I've had worse." He grabbed her arm. "You're the one who should be resting. You got possessed!"

One word filled Gaia's mind. SHIP!
It reminded her of herself and Robert. A wave of sadness washed over her just thinking about him. "Well, uh, imma clean up…" She walked out the door.

@Lenered

"At least I'm not bleeding!" Mari pulled her arm away, instead placing it on his shoulder. "If you rest, I'll stay with you. Okay?"

Ellis bit back the urge to argue more. "Okay. I'll rest."

@Lenered

She sat down on his bed, patting the seat next to her. "Captain, about the landing gear, I think I'm going to need a strong steel."

"Alright I can get that from the next station. And I said you can stop calling me that."

@Lenered

"I could. But it'd be a bit weird. I've been calling you Captain ever since I joined your crew. Besides we should be professional. This is a dangerous job and the more people who care, the worse your death will be." Does it sound like a love confession? No, it doesn't. Okay. Good. Mariko smiled at him, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

(I"M BACK)
Pain jolted through Ellen's head, kicking her back into consciousness. She gave a strangled gasp, yelping in pain. It hurt to breath.

@Lenered

Ellis turned. "I think she's starting to wake up."

@Lenered

"Yeah. She is. Are you okay, Ellen?" She smiled at the girl, waving.

Ellen bolted up right, breathing hard. She huddled against the wall, eyes darting around. "Where's the fricking b#stard?" She cried, grouping about for her knife.

"Dead, thanks to Gaia." Ellis replied. "You're safe now."

@Lenered

Gaia's so awesome. I'm so. . . dirty. Mari looked down at her muddy overalls and grease-stained gloves. Why does Ellis even want to see me? I'd be better off in my nest. Where no one listens and the constant thrum of machinery helps me calm down. She grinned at Ellen, trying to erase her thoughts. Stupid demon. . . making me feel like I'm choking even though it's over.
