Nate laughed along with Beth as he rubbed circles in Jessica's back. "Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to embarrass you." He whispered to her, continuing to laugh.

Jessica smiled and hugged Nathan's torso.
Nate hugged her tighter in return and went back to talking with Beth, continuing to completely ignore the other guy from this morning.
Beth snorted at the too in attempt to laugh" you guys are like a newly married couple".
"Maybe we are." Nate joked, "You may never know…" He chuckled
Beths face went from playfull to serious.
Dean heard that and chocked on his salad.
"I'm joking. We're only in high school. You can't get married until your eighteen. Besides, I don't think we're quite ready to get married just yet." Nate's smile dropped as Beth's mood changed.
Jessica quickly pulled out her phone and called her mother to check on lucy.
Nate listened as Jessica called her mother, wanting to make sure Lucy was doing okay.
After a few minutes Jessica hung up the phone putting it back in her pants pocket. "Lucy's fine" she said
"That's good, I'm glad she's doing okay without you there this morning." Nate smiled and gave Jessica a quick kiss.

Lucy was put down by her grandmother in the living room and was allowed to play with her toys. Her grandmother went quickly to the bathroom and she estimated that she would be out in 10 minutes because she was old. Lucy rattled her toy keys before getting bored of it and crawled in front of the fireplace. He onesie didn't keep her warm enough and she was to far from the lit fire. She went right to it and saw that the background behind it was moving. She went out to touch it in immediately retracted her hand. She had a second-degree burn and started yelling the loudest than she ever had.
Jessica's mother could not here her over the water runing in the bathroom.
(Not quite sure how to respond to these recent events soo….um….I'm just gonna wait on that for now XD)
Later that day Jessica and Nathan were on there way home they were about a mile away from Jessica's house.
(hey, sorry I was offline for so long. I had marching band competitions, but I'm back now :D)
"How was your day? Did it go okay?" Nate asked Jessica.
(it's okay)
Jessica turned her head to nate "uh yeah It was fine" she responded.
"Are you sure? You just seem like something's wrong. Did something happen?" Nate asked, wanting to make sure she was okay.
"I'm fine Nate" she reassured him.
"Okay." Nate turned his eyes back to the road, not saying another word on the matter.
Soon enough they arrived at Jessica's house .
Nate turned off the car and got out, grabbing his backpack and guitar as he did.
Jessica reached to the backseat and grabbed her backpack.
Nate walked up to the front door and opened it. He turned around to wait for Jessica to catch up so they could walk inside together.
Jessica shut he car door and ran to catch up with Nathan.
Nate put his free arm around Jessica's shoulders and walked with her into the house.
once she was inside she saw a crying Lucy.
Nate saw Lucy crying as soon as they stepped inside. He dropped his stuff and rushed to Lucy to pick her up.
Jessica ran to lucy aswell seeing she was crying "Shes burned" Jessica said.
"How could this have happened? I thought your mother was watching her?" Nate was starting to get upset as Lucy continued to cry. He rushed her to the kitchen and put her tiny little hand under some cold water to try and soothe the burn a little bit.
