Jessica marched upstairs to her mother and stareted to scream at her.
Secret child (open)
Nate continued to hold Lucy's hand under the cold water, trying not to listen to Jessica and her mother arguing in the room above them.
"How could you do this" jessica screamned
"Honey I-" jessica's mother started
"Don't honey me Thats my daughter" Jessica yelled
"I know that" jessica's mother responded
"Do you know that you left her unnattended she could have seriously hurt herself oh wait she already did" she said " You know forget it " Jessica then ran downstairs to nathan and lucy.
Nate heard Jessica come down the stairs as he was gently drying off Lucy's hand and bandaging it. He turned towards her once he was finished and pulled her close to him and Lucy. Lucy's cries had quieted down a little after the medicine Nate had given her and now she was just sniffling and whimpering.
"were not staying here" Jessica said simply.

When Lucy's father held her tight, she immediately calmed down and sucked her thumb that wasn't burned.

Jessica looked at Lucy and smiled down at her.
"Okay, then we'll go back to my apartment. It'll be okay. Lucy will be okay." Nate tried to reassure Jessica.
Jessica looked back up at Nathan and reached and kissed his cheek.
Nate let go of Jessica to go grab his keys and the rest of his stuff so they could leave.
Jessica grabbed a bag and put her things in it.
Nate's stuff from touring was still in his car because he hadn't gone home yet so all he needed to grab was his backpack and his guitar. After putting that stuff in the car, he went up to help Jessica pack her's and Lucy's stuff.
Once Jessica was done packing Lucy and her things she quickly hustled down the stairs to the front door.
Nate grabbed Lucy's stuff from Jessica with his free hand and carried it to the car. He buckled Lucy's car seat into his car before buckling Lucy herself into the car seat.
Jessica got in Nathan's car waiting for him to get in.

Lucy fiddled with her seat belt and then cried when she realized her pacifier wasn't there.
"aw sweetie " she said and pulled out a pacifier " is this what you want" .

Lucy nodded her head and reached for her pacifier.
Jessica put the pacifier in her hand but didn't take her eyes off Lucy.

Lucy immediately but the pacifier in her mouth and started sucking on it, slowly falling asleep.
Jessica reached back and petted Lucy's hair softly.
Nate got into the driver's seat of his car and started the car.
Jessica turned back around and kissed Nathans cheek.
Nathan smiled as he put the car in reverse and backed out of the driveway to head to his apartment.
on the way there jessica slowly began to fall asleep.
